Nope. Sirine is the correct spelling according to AD&D ed.1 (Fiend Folio, I believe). I have on occasion spelled some of the mythical creatures names differently by mistake or on purpose, since these creatures don’t actually exist and I can call them what I want. By differentiating them from the accepted, I can change details about them. ie: (theoretical critical reader)"Hey, Sphinxes don’t spit fire!" (me)"Perhaps. But SPHYNXES can!"
