Quite possibly. The amount of focus from the male students (and half the female ones) has just spiked to 100%. All iPhones are down; everyone just sat up straighter and is paying full attention (even the girls who are not so impressed have at least stopped talking between themselves)!
Not the worst way for a teacher to begin the first class of the year (by net effect, if not by method).

… although there’s something else that has just occurred to me now, at age 40, for the first time in my life:
It must be quite difficult to *reach* the floor, from atop a pair of high heeled shoes! Is she bending her body nearly in half to tweak the class, or is that just a physical necessity because the floor is a good 5 inches farther away than if she’d been standing barefoot?
I must say, at my age, I admittedly can no longer touch my toes, though I certainly could as a teenager training for years in martial arts. Bending 5 inches PAST my toes however… I don’t think I was ever that flexible even at my peak; it’s quite impressive!

Note that she went on one foot at she bent over. That’ll allow her more freedom of movement with her hips without straining her hamstrings.

Yeah, I have to do that too. Also helps balance. I don’t think it’s as fun to watch when I do it though. 😛

It *is* a spell they need to be aware of. Even before the sorcery starts.

Trust me when I say that you don’t want HER to assign you to detention…

Her detention is some time in Arachne’s Play Room.

Don't tell them that – too many of them will want to compete for spots in detention.

Interesting. Steatoda are commonly known as *false* widows.

      OH! That’s a spider genus!
Yes, I remember now; all of Rich’s drow have spider type/themed names.
I was trying to figure out what the pun should be combined with the prefix.
"Ms Steatoda… Misty Toda… Miss Teat Oda… I got nothing.."
