So soon after losing Elisabeth Sladen, it's now been announced that another of Jon Pertwee's companions is no longer with us. Caroline John who played Liz Shaw Doctor Who in the early 70s and had reprised her character unofficially for the P.R.O.B.E. spin-offs and also some of the more recent Big Finish Companion Chronicles audiobooks, has passed away at the age of 71.

Her character was smart and very able to keep the Doctor on his toes. Caroline did a lot of work, and I'm sad we won't see more.
