Here's the article about it:

http://io9.com/5461075/let-doctor-who-explain-this-supernova-to-you

Basically scientists have been studying a supernova and released a paper Jan 28th 2010, but one of the scientist also wrote a Doctor Who story to explain what they found.

In the article (linked above) you get links not only to the paper, but the Doctor Who story "Doctor Who and the Silver Spiral", and a link to download an mp3 of the author reading her work.

Doctor Who was what inspired Megan Argo to become a scientist, so she had fun creating something to pass the torch along.

I read the story and it's captured Tennant perfectly <g> tho I think Martha would know a bit more basic physics than she does in the story. Still, as the point of the story was to explain to laymen what was fascinating about this particular
supernova, that can be overlooked.

(I'm going to have to keep it with my Doctor Wheasle & The Classification of the Daleks vid  )

I think this, even if it's cool, is a little bit silly.

BTW, happy 1000th thread.

In a way that sort of sums up Doctor Who - even if it's cool, it's a little bit silly <g>

British Family Sci Fi
