Alright, how 'bout this?

The 4th Doctor and Sarah Jane land in some deserted field with absolutely no idea where they are. They see a dirt road and decide to make their way over. When they get near the road, Sarah steps in a hole and (gasp!) hurts her ankle. Luckily a jeep passes by and offers them a lift to the nearest MASH place. When they get there, they are greeted by two men by the names of Hawkeye and Radar. Hawkeye takes Sarah to get her ankle bound, while Radar takes the Doctor to see Col. Potter, who is yelling at someone on the phone about some strange goings-ons at the MASH...

Radar would be the only one to sense something unusual about the Doctor in the extraterrestrial sort of way, and the only one to figure out he was a time lord. His telepathy/clairvoyance/prescience in emergencies was legendary in the older eps  (tho they calmed it down by the time he left to a 'just being smart enough to know everything his boss wanted before he did' at the end).

It works well (I think) with the earlier suggestion that Mash was caught in a time loop, repeating the same few years over and over, for a decade- and how Radar was the only one to leave the show alive and sane.

What about Trapper? We never saw his actual departure. For all we know, he was perfectly sane.

Got his own spinoff, "Trapper John, M.D.", though it was a totally different actor in a different age. Conclusion: Trapper was a Time Lord.

Technically, they could only legally make that spin-off by saying that the Trapper in the show was actually the Trapper from the film version of MASH instead of the show.

Although to further complicate things, in the pilot episode, there's a photo on the wall of Alan Alda and Wayne Rogers outside the Swamp, so I suppose its anybody's guess.

Timelord or body swapping alien.

Since he kept the same name and even profession, continued to make the same sort of mistakes ... Time Lord.
