We will find out later that she is the long lost sister of Cudigan stolen from the family many years ago.

Well she seems to be skilled as a rogue/asassin... and quite lethal as well. Why didn't she throw that bag of firey detah at Kurassa, and then expose him to the obviously good royal family? She definitely isn't his coworker, she was shown sweeping his floor.

He could have one of those really nifty magic devices that transfers damage from him to her. Or just reflects it back on the person who inflicted it (much the same effect in this case).

Well, somebody has to do housework, doesn't mean she's his slave or anything.

She calls him MAster and is dressed in rags. The best she could be is an apprentice but she doesn't look like she dabbles on magic.
Plus she is probably smitten by Kassim now. Unless these are the first kind words she heard in centuries, thus the blushing.

He's in chage, that much is obvious, so of course he's her master. We don't know nearly enough about them to make any judgements about their relationship so assuming she's a slave that's desperate to escape is not warrented yet. Hell, he's treated her better than AAdwen treated her squire in her first appearance. She might ne a servant and cleaning is what she was there to do.

Not unlikely but... do elves get to be servants? Of humans? If she was any other race i would agree, but unless Umbril is somehow different than the rest of the world in that regard, it is a bit strange.
Maybe it is my own unholy fear of housework that does the speaking, though .

If there's no significant elf society around to support them elves pretty much have to do whatever they can get. Especially if they don't have a family to support them, of course we don't know if that's the case here.

She did look significantly prettier after Kassim's thanks.

I agree, maybe she has some inherent shape changing abilities; say ones that are affected by her subconscious emotions.

Or maybe it is love!

I kind of always thought the two are the same thing.
