If you ignore the spider legs, maybe. I might like legs, but not that much.

Not to mention that instead of a post coital cigarette as a male you have to reach for your running shoes...

But yes, Anancy does look great. And somehow punk rock.

I was a little surprised to see she continued to wear one of those Drow tops. She could have made herself a lovely little number out of her own silk. Or would that feel too creepy, even for a Drider? ;)

Yes, but does it dissolve faster than fashion changes? Because if the top will outlast the trend, hey, golden.

It probably only lasts a few hours.

Even ordinary spider silk can last for days before it starts to decay.

i think drider webs would be a bit stronger as to disolve within a few hours, even spider webs can hold for days... outside... in the rain. hell messured in diameter or weight vs strength spiderwebs beat any known material in durability. scientists try to mimic spider webs for some time, they could make ropes a mm thick but as strong as several cm of steel.

but beside that: i find her incredible hot... i have general an odd thing for half human hybrids like centaurs and naga too, also i love drow so a drider is just awesome too, if it wasnt for the "i entagle you in webs and eat you later" thing, thats not so hot

By the way, don't you love how Anacy is convinced she is headed for Royal poisoner straight out of the academy?

I keep forgetting whether Driders actually breed or not. If they do, then at least some creatures manage to 'cuddle' female Driders without getting eaten -- or so I presume.

She's been improving on her professors' toxins and Drow generally demand excellence from students, punishing less than best performances with torment or death. I think Anancy knows how good she is, compared to her fellow students, and probably has a solid idea of her employment chances.

Still, as aarrogant as only a teenager can be :-) .
After all, this is her version of the events. The adult poisoners could be rolling her eyes at the same time.

I presume that they don't breed, either because of biology limitations, or because of lack of appropriate mating partners. Otherwise, there would be populations, communities, and, with some time, even cities of Driders. They would lose their status as strange and rare horrors, and become yet another nonhuman race, just a bit creepier than the average (compare with Tolkien orcs who originate of magically warped elves).
By the way, the same thing applies to Chimera, Sphinx, maybe Minotaur and possibly some other unique creatures. I hope that one of the early strips with a female Chimera displayed was just a gag and will never be developed further. If the Chimera were non-unique and able to reproduce, it (or he?) wouldn't be the Chimera, nor even a chimera, but just one of weird creatures like beholders or xorns or like some of near-extinct species in real world.
