And here's that first shot at the Second Doctor that I've been promising.

Right then, Eala Dubh Sidhe! That Troughton impression was certainly impressive. Though I had to giggle when it appeared the Third Doctor called the Second a "midget homo".

On the Thoros Betan side of things, the second voice is a lot better than the first; by which I mean the less-gargly, pitch-shifted one. So these two roles I give to you!

You can have Glitz too, if you want him. I'm half-tempted to give you Mel, but let's just wait and see with that one.

My plans now are to stitch the next sequence of events together from the audio I've already got. I've also got something planned for an advert on youtube, but it remains to be seen how well that turns out...

The Mel would be perfect, but you might want to use Audacity or something to make it a bit more feminine, maybe raise the pitch?

By the way, wasn't it "midgit hobo"?

Can't wait for more!

Also, about Mel, it seems to me the "They're sick people, Glitz, not monsters" would sound more accusing.

EDIT: Sent in Old Leela and Black Guardian auditions!

Well, Glitz was the part I was really going for, while Mel was there as support to make the conversation function. The pitch is already raised; any more and it would sound unnatural rather than feminine. But I put on Delta & The Bannermen (sorry) afterwards and was struck by how similar in tone it actually was to Bonnie Langford's voice. If I study her inflections (ooer) a bit more, I should be able to do a more accuracte impression of the way the character talks.

On a side note, anyone who knows how startstruck JN-T was with light-entertainment celebrities in the mid-80s will understand immediately why the Sixth Doctor's era and Mel's character turned out the way they did, and why Bonnie Langford's casting was not only appropriate, but inevitable. The character WAS developed by Pip & Jane Baker after all. :)

May we get a quick casting update now?

TorchwoodRI - Sixth Doctor and Commander Maxil
Mass - Eighth Doctor, Cybermen, Imperial Daleks, Davros, one of the K-9 units
Cleverest Name - Peri
MarritThePenguin - the doctor who appears on page 88
Eala Dubhe Sidhe - Second Doctor, Slaan, Exaar, the Draconian Ambassador, the Thoros Betan Ambassador, Glitz, one of the K-9 units

Currently in process:
Cleverest Name - Old Leela and Black Guardian
Eala Dubhe Sidhe - Mel (like you said study her inflections etc.)
Lassarai - Grace (giving her feedback at the moment)

Right now I'm in the process of making my own advert, starring me as Tom Baker. It cleverly blends two of the most embarrassing footnotes in the history of Doctor Who; you'll see...

Re-sent the files... You can call my friend "MarritThePenguin" if that would simplify things.

The Invisible Enemy and Underworld? :)

Quick suggestion for Dalek voices: I assume you'll want three for this. One for the Imperials that sounds like John Leeson in Remembrance Of The Daleks (the one cast already), one for the Renegades that sounds like Roy Skelton (I'll try for this, if Audacity has a vocoder option), and one for the shiny modern models that sounds like Nick Briggs.

I wonder, how big is the audition list for the Tenth Doctor going to be? Because that's the part whom EVERYONE who wants the spotlight and feels confident will be after. It'll be like Britain's Got Timelords and Arraitch is Cyberleader Kow-L. :)

(Edit: Ohhhhhh, it was the OTHER two.) :P

I thought i was down for all the Daleks? I remember seein it a little while back in one of the threads?

I can adapt my voice and performance based on which dalek faction, plus i can alter it with audacity should i need to.

Personally I'm in favour of one Dalek voice per faction, with individual major Daleks within that faction having different nuances within the same voicetype, because that will be the best way to distinguish between factions as the story shifts between them since we won't be able to see what colour each one is. It also makes the most sense for Davros' voice actor to be the same as his personal creations, the Imperials.

Of course, how it's eventually achieved isn't up to me.
