Now I wonder about Wolf's ... pedigree for Lolth to even consider bearing his child... Shouldn't he be the Immortal Grand Savior Champion of All Drow to even survive suggesting such a thing ?

I was just about to comment that it almost seems more likely she might be willing to give him a demigod child, but only so long as he's the one to carry it.

Carry? What is this 'carry' you speak of? Everyone knows spiders lay eggs. Sometimes in a corpse, so as to provide food for the young'un.

I have to wonder if this might be something of a suicide mission for Wolf...

To be strictly fair, we don't know whether Lolth's been using consorts while still out in the Demonweb Pits for 'recreational purposes'. She might not be averse to some sporting.

Also, Wolf's argument makes sense for her: Lolth would be able to directly influence the Drow government if her own brood gets on the throne.

In closing: there have been several hints that Lolth is weakening somehow, losing some of her edge. This might be just one more symptom.

Or yeah, she might cocoon Wolf, put an egg in him and giggle about it.
