I know The Black Mountain is home to all things evil, but we rarely see this day-to-day evil as it affects those who live around the mountain. In point of fact, I can't remember the last time I even thought it, so this strip was rather jarring for me.

For some reason, the drow can be more frightening in that than any other race. Bloodlust and expansiveness is in the orcs' case is for me easier to understand than the pure sadism of the drow.

Having said that, i have to say also that i got to admire Queenie. She understands she is done for, does not seem to hope for freedom, but somehow she does not flinch, plead or demand special treatment. Sure, she is still arrogant, but she is being far more dignified than one would expect.

This is true. Even considering the nature of the Drow, she does seem rather composed.
