"Just Kill her son, or I will."

"No dad, I have a better idea. I'll make her my personal slave for life. What about that?"

"Humm.. A hot Drow slave, she could teach you a lot. All right son, you have a deal. Here's some rope, lets take her home, but if she ever causes trouble, its fresh Drow meat for the table."

"But she's hot!" Sounds like a reasonable argument to me.

I always thought that orc standard of beauty must be very different from the human one. There is no reason why drow designed to seem hot to humans should seem hot also to orcs. Seriously, why otherwise should they stick with orc women, when elven, human, and even fierce drow women are more or less available?

Orcs, elves, and humans are pretty similar in physiology from the neck down. "Butterface" isn't a problem if your gaze never goes higher than the collarbones.

The only non-orc we've seen voluntarily hook up with an orc is Owen. Just because other races are available doesn't mean they want anything to do with them.
And breeding with humans results in half-breeds, which is bad for preserving a race.

Technically, the Fox did too.

Put another way, Maula and Goria are the only orcs interested in hooking up with humans.

That's always been one of my ideas for separating Fantasy from Science Fiction.

In SF, species are programmed to mate within their race and their standards of attractive are dictated by their own physiques. Thus: An Orc would find other Orcs to be most attractive, Goblins possibly as slightly less so, Humans ugly and Elves hideous. Scientifically half-breeds would be all but impossible. (Otherwise there'd be at least a few Gorilla/Human hybrids wandering about)

In fantasy, the creatures can be aware of their own levels of attractiveness from the Human frame of reference. Thus: Orcs know they're ugly and twisted mockeries of Humans and breed with eachother mostly because nobody else will. Given a choice between another Orc and a Human, an Orc would chose Human. (Notice how pleased Maula is with her Human slaves after the raid! She also thinks that Glon is the most beautiful of her children.) Half-breeds are possible and not uncommon. Orcs might hate Elves because they are (supposedly) *more* attractive than Humans and really throw their own unfortunate situation into sharp relief. A reminder of their shortcomings.

As I recall, Goria was very much wanted by some human males...

True but she was considered an exotic. Her wannabe customers wanted to have her for a night but they looked thrilled by the danger. Also, Goria is the orc closer to the human ideal as the princesses have proved.
