I love it when comic charcters set out to kill their creators.

I also love the look of Lewie there.

Hmm, so the question is; is this upcoming confrontation the time that one of the Bobs will become the new Beholder King? Or is Rich just trying to chekhov's troll us.

Perhaps there will be some kind of magical accident and the Bobs will merge into Super Beholder King Bob?

Look at that: Bob2's first real words in the comic are... a statement of intent to kill something much older and potentially more powerful than 'him'self.

Does that mean Bob2 is a natural adventurer? ;)

The time of the prophecy is upon us... I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd kind of miss the Beholder King if he is defeated. It was fun to know he was around, even if he didn't appear much.

That would mean loss of Bob as a personality. I don't think the rule of main character immunity would allow that. And, well, if our Beholder King gets the Beholder king killed, that will certainly have some suicidal overtones. In fact, both characters are important symbols, so I think neither of them can vanish too easy.

Will the Beholder King even join the fray? Maybe he is back in his cavern, being strategic and all.

He has powerful and reliable minions. Why should he ever join the battle?

For the fun of it? Slaughter and blood, pretty fires, pain and suffering, the lamentations of the women...

He may well join in the battle so he gets to chew on some corpses too, beholders like chewing.

This tiny little one is so cold-blooded, so firm, resolute, so self-confident that I'm beginning to be affraid

(And this way I like Bob1 even more! By contrast.)

Yep, Bob 1 probably is not a very beholdery beholder. But why is Bob 2 helping him?

Perhaps Bob2 has heard of the prophecy and wants to be king asap.

As for Bob1 do remember he has eaten a neighbour.

The Beholders apparently do value loyalty to one's family, and Bob1 is Bob2's big brother. Sure, he's the big brother whose butt he can kick whenever he wants, but still... family.

Also remember that Bob1 made up with his family so there's no reason Bob2 shouldn't be on his side.
