Reality check, kid: you wouldn't have lasted a minute.

I hope it doesn't become fashionable for Beholders to have 'pet' Goblin. ^^;

But he does have a good point, I'd like one myself... Wouldn't forget to feed the goblin for at least a couple of weeks!

It may be helpful with his family later.

She did, but she seemed pretty unconflicted about heading out for the bardic competition (and hooking up with that drummer).

Sure, but that guy was a Hobgoblin. He's sort of the same species. So far, Gren is the only sister to get close and cuddly with a vastly different creature type.

No, but I don't see how it applies to the possibility of Jalla cheating on her husband with a talking, floating beachball with destructo-vision. ;)

What part does confuse you? "Cheating on her husband" or "with a talking, floating beachball"? There are precedents of both, even involving goblins.

Okay, let me put it this way: had Jalla's husband cheated on her prior to the bardic competition?

Wrong first question. Did she actually marry that Rommo guy?

I'm going to put this argument/discussion to bed here, since there's nothing in the entire comic to prove or disprove either point of view.

The reason for all this is the following: There's a strip missing. Not actually MISSING, but the Rommo & Jalla story (where Gren stands in for Jalla at her wedding to the Hobgoblin War Minister) had a postscript strip that I never got around to drawing. I moved straight on to the next plot instead and I've regretted it ever since.

In the story, Jalla is going steady with Rommo, but her father -who promised the War Minister that he could marry his daughter Gren, offers up Jalla instead because he's disowned Gren. Rommo is all prepared to fight for her honour until he discovers that he's up against the Hobgoblin War Minister. The last we see of Rommo is him saying "See ya'" (or something to that effect).

Gren ends up subbing in for Jalla at the wedding and gets all of them into trouble, but Bob shows up and threatens the Hobgoblins until all's well that ends well. Gren is reunited with her family, Razortooth's honour is restored, Jalla is free to go back to her boyfriend Rommo.

What I MEANT to put in was a strip where Jalla goes running back to Rommo to tell him that she's free and they can be together forever and kissy kissy mwa mwa etc. But when she finds him he's deep in an empassioned embrace with another woman (A Goblin, incidently, but that's not important).

I didn't do it because I leaped into the next story instead, which was Bob attempting to get back into his own family (and introducing Bob2) and by the time all that was over we'd come to the anniversary and the start of a new story and I just never got around to working the gag in.

When I brought Jalla back for the Bardic challenge I had intended to show that she was, indeed available now and not tied down anymore. But I never gave specifics and so it's not clear that she's doing any more than just cheating on him.

So, final word from on high is that Jalla is not, in fact, married to or even seeing Rommo anymore. Nor is she seeing the drummer (who we last saw being hit on by Gren's ex). She is single and available, though don't ask for her number, she's very particular about who she gets set up with.

She has nothing to worry about on my score. ^^ I don't dislike her, but I prefer my ladies to be roughly my own height.
