This is a new one on me. My research stated that Penanggalans have their own bodies and if they lose it can slowly regenerate a new one. But if sunlight touches them in their flying head form, they're dead.
Actually, that's not true. I must have forgotten or misunderstood something. The English Wikipedia article on penanggalan does not say that these monsters can attach to bodies of their victims. But neither does it say that they can regenerate their own bodies. Therefore, that skeleton should be very useful indeed.
