The downside with "ancient maps" is that a DM with a bit of a penchant for linguistics can have lot of fun twisting the wording.

Eg:
Player: Um, what is this? Where's the healing well?
DM: Oh didnt you know? In the ancient dialect of OogaBoogaWanga, "Well" means "Pit"
Player: Um..oookay...
DM: And what you though was "Healing" was actually "Hea'ng" in the same dialect which means...
Player: Lemme guess....hmmm...demons poking us with pitchforks and lots of fire....

Our DM could be downright nasty at times... ;)

Plague ship ... Seriously? I guess Kila's army didn't make it all the way down to the Sandsea before Lolth turned her into a slurpy sausage. Still, in a world with magic, people should be capable of recognizing zombies. Then again... I suppose in a very technical sense, the zombie 'virus' could be described as a plague.

Perhaps it is a plague, ans zombies are one of the results.
