In the this corner, we have the ultimate elf from down under, mistress of the dark Drow, the one and only spider-goddess, Lolth! And her opponent, a mortal creature so powerful that he's close to a demi-god in his own right, the master of the caverns, leader of the most-evil, he is the Beholder King!

I'm giving 3 to 1 on the King in the first 5 rounds. Since he can't replenish via worship like Lolth, I've got 1 to 1 for round 6 through 8, and 2 to 1 on Lolth for rounds 9+. Place your bets now (no refunds).

My money's on the Beholder King...It's his comic, his rules, his pencil. He may give the upperhand to Lolth, for a few panles, to keep readers guessing. But, in the end, BK will sketch up a victory.

Three cheers for the Beholder King! Hip hip, HUZZAH! Hip hip, HUZZAH! Hip hip, HUZZAH!

Beholder King the monster, not the author :shifty:

Oops...

Well, it doesn't matter then...Even if the Beholder King won, he'd never remember it...He seems a tad senile. Lolth could just say the "battle" has already happend, and that she won.

Gotta say Lolth. I was just thinking about it, and aside from throwaway joke exceptions (Bob eating the harpy), men never defeat women in single combat in YAFGC. I just realized it today while pondering the whole "Jone's army" bit. That's when it dawned on me that I couldn't think of any instances where a man in a serious duel with a woman in this comic ever did more than manage to achieve a draw.

So with that in mind, Lolth FTW. Plus, I always did like the Spider Queen, even though I hate spiders. ;)

Adwen did kind of utterly get trounced by Karak back in the tournament arc, and Lewie's mother vs. the barbarian invaders ended pretty badly for her...

But yeah, overall, there is a bit of a double standard.

The only reason Adwen got trounced was she forgot to bring Snookums with her

Tsk. You're all forgetting how Lewie schooled Arachne. And those male orcs had only a little trouble with Goria.

And let's not forget that Turg beat the Gynosphinx without even drawing a weapon.

Its against my personal policy to do more then make a gentleman's bet however I have to point out that the Beholder King has limited precognition. Lolth would have to work her demon-goddess butt hard to take him down before round five or later. Add that we do not know what the Beholder King's extra eye-stalk abilities are makes Lolth not as much of a shoe-in as many people think.
