Chello!

I was directed here because I'm a Doctor fan and found the "10 Doctors." Excellent little read, btw. Captured the spirit of the show and the individual doctors quite well.

I've run and played the old FASA Dr. Who RPG and am currently in the process of devouring/assimilating the cubicle 7 version and plan on running (RT) a campaign featuring my own Time Lord, the Professor. (Yes, yes, I know that's what Ace called #7!)

My profile pic is my preferred image for the 2nd Professor...Vincent Price dressed in a manner reminiscent of Doctors 1 & 8. :)

Anyway, I'll probably be lurking in the Dr.Who section and posting on threads that catch my eye.

Welcome, Professor!
Actually, long before Ace showed up on the scene, FASA had a sample PC in their Doctor Who RPG called "The Professor" who was a member of UNIT-NA. (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce - North America)

Still, welcome! Glad you enjoyed the comic! I myself was also a FASA Who player. I'd give the new one a go except that I don't have the money to buy the book and I don't have a gamer group who'd be interested enough to play.

My PC was "The Scout"! :D

Hi, Djbp, nice to meet you. It's thanks to Hilary and Rich that I'm now a fan of Heather and Ben, too.

Hey there! Welcome to the board! And I second that suggestion - anyone who has a chance to see these guys play live should do so; Heather's got something like a 24 CHA + 10 while performing, and it's amazing to experience live. ;)

Greetings everyone,

this is attempt number ... I lost count ... to introduce myself in this forum.
Let's see if it works today.

First and most important of all:
I like YAFGC very much. Nice comic, good characters and stories.
Please keep on doing the good work and never stop it. :)

I'm started reading the comic a few month ago after stumbling over a link to your side somewhere in the GiantITP forums as far as I remember.
I couldn't stop when working through the archive from the very first strip to the latest.
Now I often find myself being anxious for the newest comic strip.

Some lines about me.
I'm from Germany. Thus English is not my native language and please don't judge me to hard if slip to much into a German-English grammar mix-up or similar. :D Thanks.

My RPG "career" started more than 15 years ago with one of the still today most popular PnP RPGs in Germany: Das schwarze Auge ("Realms of Arkania" or "The Dark Eye" outside of German speaking regions).
Over the years I tried several other RPGs like Earthdawn, AD&D, Shadowrun, etc.
After this I got stuck on D&D 3.x for a longer while and - with great influence from my computer and especially MMO activities - started to like D&D 4 very much. But unfortunatelly I haven't found that much time to play it, yet.
I as well played a lot of Vampre: The Masquerade LARP (later as PnP as well) and Fantasy LARP (and did a little Middle Ages reenactment).
Climax of this (LARP) activities was some GM experience on a few LARPs I organized with my friends.
When I had to move from northern Germany to southern Germany for a new job I was forced to first reduce and later cancel most of my LARP activities.
I only regret missing of few parts of this whole stuff. :)

My other great hobby (and sometimes menace) are the video games.
It stated with some very old Might & Magic titles. Went through Diablo 1 and 2. Crossed several strategy games (Battle Isle, C&C, Warcraft, Starcraft) and a phase of browser gaming to evolve to MMOs and other current games. To mention the latest and best titles: Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, The Force Unleashed 2, Fallout: New Vegas).

When not gaming or reading a good fantasy book (at present: "Slay and Rescue" from John Moore) I work as IT support (1st and 2nd level) for a big company. Or in other words "nursing" a bunch of DAUs ("dumbest assumable user" or "luser" as English equivalent as far as my dictionary tells me ;) ).

HA! Finished! Finally! ;P

Well... OK. I forgot to put one part in this block of text somewhere.
Over the time I worked on a bunch of fantasy stuff.
Homebrewed RPG ideas and a few stories.
Unfortunatelly (for you ;) ) none of it is in English.
But if I translate some of it one day, I'll provide it to you. Promise! :)

Ich habe fertig. /bow

Welcome breedingpit! Thanks for the info! Your English is fine! Totally comprehensible. Judging from the book orders we've received there's a LOT of readers out there in Germany! Welcome to the forum, glad it worked out for you this time.

And, of course, thanks for reading!
-Rich

Welcome, breedingpit :-) . What a nickname, by the way! Does it have a story?

Hi, breedingpit, nice to meet you. I agree with Morgana, that's quite a nickname. I'm also curious if there's a story behind it.

Yes, in some way it has a background story.

Unce upon a time I wanted to make a small website to present my creations to the world. Well, in some way at least.
There were a few stories, an old website for my V:TM LARP domain, some never used "gumps" for an Ultime Online freeshard I used to play on at that time, and so on and so on.

I thought about a good and interesting name for it and imagined something like "think tank". But think tank was to "modern" for what I intended to publish on the website.
So one day this old Magic: The Gatering card came to my mind: Breeding Pit (or how it is originially written).
A (bottemless) pit with lots of creations crawling out of it
aka my mind and the ideas coming out if it. ;)

The websites name was born and some time later I started to use it as my nickname on several occasions as well.
Sadly the website orphaned a longer while ago. I simply did not find the time to maintain it anymore.

Side note: Before "breedingpit" is often used "changeling" as my nickname. But that's another story. ;)

I like this story. It is not as disturbing as the nickname implied (thought he artwork for Gathering can be...).

Hoys. I am not fond of these intro-threads, as I don't think I'm really interesting enough to talk about. >_>

I first discovered the site during the Ten Doctors story. (Which, uh, I came in late on, and still haven't actually finished reading. ) Became a regular reader with Outrage. (Yeah, I'm here for the Who....not read the original stuff... Sorry!) Participated for a bit in discussions on the main site, until they had to be closed, so...here I am, now. Hi.

Now to introduce myself, I guess!

I'm 33, living in Los Angeles, and generalist and dilletante as far as sci-fi and fantasy geekery. I started reading YAFGC some years ago, then poked at the link to the ComixBlog out of curiosity. I enjoyed 24fps and frankly, all the rest - then the Ten Doctors came along, and I was really hooked! I even started watching Rich on DevArt. I don't have a lock of hair yet, but there's this guy on Ebay who seems to be legit... :sneaky2: :D

I sporadically write fanfiction, which I just as sporadically update; I started out writing Discworld, but caught the start of the first season of New Who and made a shocking swerve onto mostly Doctor Who fanfic and crossovers. I also got caught up in Classic Who when I was writing a Third Doctor story and realized I needed to do some research. I've posted a couple in Fanworks, I may post more.

Keep up the good work!

Welcome, King Rat :-) . Do you plan on writing any YAFGC fanfiction?
