Rich Morris' Comics - YAFGC and The ComixBlog

Looking for bug reports, suggestions and notes - not for links, specifically (we've got lots of those) but things that would make the site(s) more useful to you. I won't promise anything except that I'll read everything and take it all under serious consideration.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that it would be kind of nice to have a set of Advance/Rewind buttons above the strip as well as below. That way, if we miss a few strips (say, because of the flu ), we don't need to go past the strip to flip back to where we left off.

You mean these?

Forum wise, the ability to post vids from Youtube, etc, instead of just showing a link, would be nice, esp in fanwork related threads.

I think the Comic Blog site looks pretty good as is. Trying to find something to change about it... all I could come up with was adding a link to the forum with the 'Discussion Thread is closed' notification.

The upside, it would advertise the forums and give folks a place to show their continuing interest or take up a conversation inspired by the page.

Downside, it might alert whiners and that guy who spams the thread to another place to go. But spam is pretty well controlled here, and hey, maybe we could finally get someone who would use that 'why you annoy me' thread.

Hmm. Those don't show on my version of Firefox. I'd better give them a bug report.

As far as I am concerned, the layout is fine. I'm on the latest Firefox and those links above the title work fine (I use them a lot). But, why don't you have a vote button on the page? It is only recently that I discovered that you were on TWC. Incidentally, the link from TWC still points to http://yafgc.shipsinker.com/.

Being impetuous (or, maybe, slapdash in my actions) I didn't see that you were not so interested in links. Well, for my sins, I had already done a scan of your 57778 of them! It took quite a time but got there in the end. If it's any help to you, I put the results onto my website (not linked from anywhere). The address is abs-uk.manvell.org.uk and then look for the file yafgc.htm in directory /yafgc/. Both internal and external links are covered and most useful links are Broken URLs and Broken Pages. Happy to do this any time so if you want the site re-tested any time, please let me know.

Can you do something about the contrast on the buttons on the Post a Reply page? The text on the wood tone is a pain to read in this color.

Crap; yes. Sorry! I broke the forum badly the other day, got it to a semi-usable state and then had to go kid-wrangle again. I'll get back to the css fixes as soon as possible (tonight, hopefully).

Not exactly on topic but the link from TWC, which I presume is under your control, still takes one to the old shipsinker address where one is then redirected to the current site.
