Rats. Not so much with being in the UK. :?

Harumph. That's gonna be tough, then. Crud.

Well it doesnt matter where you live, if you have a computer you can get BBC radio

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio7/programmes/ ... andfantasy

is channel 7's offering of audio sci fi this week. But on the 23rd, radio 4 will have a documentary on Doctor Who Target novelizations,"On the Outside It Appeared to be an Ordinary Police Box" so check around the listen again feature then (obviously change the radio7 in the link to radio4 , and check their site out to catch that)

eta to add details

Thanks for clearing that up, M'reen. I thought that the radio feed would be blocked in a similar way to the TV shows on the 'BBC iplayer' for users outside the UK. Well, look out for season 3 airing around autumn (fall), then. :)

On the subject of radio broadcast audio adventures, apparently there will be three new Torchwood plays just before the new miniseries, Children of Earth
Quote:

Torchwood returns to the airwaves
Following the huge success of Torchwood: Lost Souls, which was broadcast as part of Radio 4's Big Bang season last year, the Torchwood cast are set to return to the airwaves in three brand new Torchwood radio plays.

Three 45 minute episodes will air in Radio 4's Afternoon Play slot at 2.15pm. The three new radio plays bridge the gap between Torchwood: Lost Souls and the upcoming Torchwood: Children of Earth television series.

The episodes feature Captain Jack (John Barrowman), Gwen (Eve Myles) and Ianto (Gareth David-Lloyd) and have been recorded over the last two weeks. The episodes will be broadcast in advance of Torchwood: Children of Earth and will be available in the UK on BBC iPlayer and as a download for 7 days after broadcast.

Asylum by Anita Sullivan
The story of a teen runaway called Freda who is brought to the attention of Torchwood by PC Andy. As Gwen, Jack and Ianto investigate where this troubled girl has come from, Andy finds himself drawn closer than ever before into the world of Torchwood.

Golden Age by James Goss
Torchwood go to India to investigate the disappearance of hundreds of people. The trail leads them to an old colonial club which seems strangely stuck in the past as does its young and beautiful owner, the Duchess.

The Dead Line by Phil Ford
A series of mysterious phone calls lead Jack into danger, and result in 'a very emotional moment for Ianto'.

BBC Radio 4 is available in the UK on 92-96FM, on digital or online at bbc.co.uk/radio4
AIR DATES/TIMES
Quote:

BBC Radio 4 have now confirmed the days and time that the three Torchwood radio plays will air. The first radio play, Asylum, will air on Wednesday 1st July at 2.15pm and the other two will air on the Thursday and Friday after at the same time. BBC Audio have also released the cover for the CD release of the first radio play

Time for you to test the quality of BBC Radio 4 web reception (and work out the international time difference, too)!

On the Torchwood note, any official news yet on when Children of Earth is airing? Amazon has the Region 1 DVD available for pre-order with a release date of 28 July...

Update for UK viewers: The UK air dates will be earlier than the US ones. The BBC have announced that Torchwood: Children Of Earth starts Monday 6th July, 9pm, BBC One. ( Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/torchwood/ )

Also, the radio plays will be available for download direct from the Torchwood official site after initial broadcast ( Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/to ... /download/ ), but this site does not state whether this service will be available for those residing outside of the UK.

Thanks for the update, Matelot! (Even though I'm not in the UK, I can still make use of the information... ;))

No problem. I thought that it'd give my fellow denizens of the UK a bit of a heads up, too (I wasn't forgetting that you reside in Minnesota, USA, honest! ;) )

Hee hee... Thanks. :) We just won't discuss here in polite company why I prefer to know the UK dates... ;)

What with the Doctor Who "drought" this year ive tried to find ways to feed my hunger, re-reading Rich's Ten Docs helped, but recently ive REALLY gotten into the Big Finish/BBC 8th Doctor series (the Lucie Miller ones)

Id heard a few audio dramas (mainly from the Davros Boxset) and they were pretty cool, but the one that stood out for me was Terror Firma, the Davros and 8 story.

So when it came to finding something to keep me going, my mind immediately flashed back to McGann, and im not kidding, this series is BRILLIANT! Ive just finished season 1, and have started season 2, the last one i heard being Max Warp.

The worst part of it tho, is hearing just how good McGann is in the role, knowing we'll probably never see his Doctor on screen again... :crybaby:

So yeah, my recommendation is that series...

I have found his the best of the audio series - they do good ones (and a few trying ones <g>) for all of the Doctors, but they seemed to have a better handle on the sound with his adventures - once they got over the whispering and shouting next to each other, so that you either have the volume too low or too high to understand what they're saying.

It's quite legal to buy audio Doctor Who adventures from Big Finish. That's why they make them.

If you are on this side of the Atlantic and wish to get your CD's shipped from this side to expedite things, I recommend Who North America.

If they dont have something you're looking for, ask them.
