The chimera is great. I'm waiting for the dragon head to say "growf".

Chimera is unreachable at the moment. I think it's mating season.

Why "growf"?

Phil and Dixie, from old Dragon magazines. They had a fairly brain-dead little dragon that only ever said "Growf", then incinerated whatever was nearby.

Oh my goodness! I'd almost forgotten Phil & Dixie. All I remember about them is that she was always trying to get to do Sex-In-D&D. And spent some time as a dragon herself.

I don't remember 'growf' at all.

I think the dragon's head shares a passing resemblance to the growfing dragon (or at least to my memory of it). But the little Phil and Dixie dragon never did anything as cool as eating dirt.

It's a terrific comic, keep up the good work! The chimera's personality and appearance are especially awesome.

Anyone else feeling somewhat sorry for Chimera at this point?

I agree with goon.

But I'm more curious, when "the great chimera" gets into a real battle.
The little "fire fight" at the beginning (from topic "rescue") seems the only one point where chimera fights (sort of).

Ah... good question.
Well... he's... y'know.. easily distracted.
Keep an eye out for them. They're one of my favorite characters too.

I love the Chimera. I think he is my favourite character. I've said it before and I'll say it again. YAFGC is a work of genius. It brightens my world seeing the latest page each day.

The beast itself, on the other hand, will probably not take notice :D .

I'm suprised there isn't a discussion yet as to which is the best head of the three. I have to love dragon for being so insane. But Lion is so huggable. Hmm.

My entire Ancient Histoy class was debating both the spelling and the pronounciation of "Chimera" today, which was interesting and not particularly related to what we are supposed to be studying... Spelling-wise it seems it sometimes has an A in it, Chimaera. And I've heard loads of permutations of the pronounciation, from "shmee-ra" to "kym-ee-ra"
:dizzy:

If the original Greek is any indication, it would be Chimaera but language has a way of reinventing itself constantly!
