I am thinking about the Duck Billed Platypus a semi-aquatic mammal endemic to eastern Australia, including Tasmania. Looks like a beaver with a ducks bill and it lays eggs and has milk for its young. The species is still alive and well today.

I am betting Gilda will get her own following inside the army in no time...

Oh come on! Given today's strip i have to wonder: how does Gilda know so much about the surface world if she is just a half insane kobold and exactly why is she doing what she is doing? She could be power mad of course, but isn't she a bit too informed and successful at what she does?
I am going to feel very stupid if she just turns out to be a lucky kobold but she is getting as creepy as Jone, not to mention more.

Maybe she's well-traveled? An ex-crew member of Fang's, perhaps. Or she just has a good rumor source. Or is psychic.

Maybe she is Fang's kin. A sister or daughter perhaps? Just another poker in the fire

And maybe she really is a Seer, and she knows where the army is going to go and what it's going to do because she can see it happening in advance? Thinking too much about what it'd do to you if you knew everything you're going to learn and going to do in advance and being stuck on rails for your whole life can cause headaches if not insanity. Gilda's ahead of the game by already being an insane Kobold.

Curse you, sir. The image of Fang reproducing has entered my head, and shall never be fully scrubbed from the inner walls of my mind. ;)

Not to be sadistic but i want to remind folks about the old "theory" Fang was the Fox. Think about it. Then go dunk your head in mind bleach for a few hours. Then rinse.

Since all Kobolds in YAFGC are more scrambled than a watermelon dropped off the empire state building i figure Fang and Gloria don't need to be related. Plus that would probably require a strip with the two of them together for an explanation. And hopefully BK ain't that cruel.
Gilda could have just picked up all her knowledge on the march and from the human recruits. If she ever lets anyone else talk. And surely the cavern-dwellers would lnow about Runt's rein as many of them did help put him on the throne.

Or someone has a map, and Gilda listened in as they discussed matters.

I wonder what's going to happen to Gilda now. Is the revolution going to devour its own children, as in the saying, or will she get her own mini-storyline, to have something to do after the whole misadventure?

I don't even want to think how would Gilda-Fang strips look like...
Gilda: "Look, honey, so I went to Gren this evening, and can you imagine, Bob is still looking up at those harpies. I mean, what is he thinking!? Wasn't that enough for him? Shouldn't she just dump him? He's such a pain in the neck... like all the men anyway. What do you think? Should she dump him? Should she? SHOULD SHE?"
Fang: "Oooh, ladybug!"

Gilda has become a lot less sympathetic - in my eyes, anyway - and I do wonder what is to become of her, now the woman she played up so much to the army of girls is dead, slain by a dead man. ... And she didn't see it coming.

What will become of her? I suspecct a lot of pain if the forum had a say in it. I could imagine her ending up in Arachne's dungeon and trying to lead the prisoners to escape. And failing drastically.

Although, after several strips of clearing up what happens with Queen Maula, Goria, Adwen, and Arachne, when everyone's left except for Gilda...

We see her standing by the crater, maybe holding Jone's skull, a little tear running out of Gilda's eye...

And then...

Up from the crater pops Cap'n Fang and he says.....

"*Gasp* Titties!"
