And now the question is, is this anouther example of spider naming or is the queen under the influence of a rival power?

I vote for the latter. Anasi the Trickster vs Lolth could be fun.

I'm still grabbing some popcorn and waiting for Mr. Nancy.

More likely Miss Anancy, considering the name structure. :D But I am looking forward to this a lot, too. It could be a real kick in the backside for Lolth if she discovers that she's been tricked.

Not necessarily. I've seen Mr. A. Nancy used before. :D I still think the drow suddenly being headed up by Anansi would be something to see. Lolth is a whole lot more like Tiger than Anansi, for all her spider-ness.

I have a question of a different nature: is the Queen been tickled for torture as a contrast to all the horrid stuff she had happening to her and the protests that occured?

Have we ever seen using pain on a drow produce results?

Would "as fan service" constitute a viable answer?

I have found that some people are extremely susceptible to tickling, while others totally immune, and a skilled torturer always adapts to their subject....

I dunno. Have they, ever? Moreover, have your readers ever protested anything vigorously enough to make you doubt your course? I can't imagine it is so; YAFGC has been a slice of awesome since I started reading it, not to mention your other works.

I think we've mystified him on occasion, but usually he's at least 2-3 weeks ahead of us readers, so no influencing.

Much.
