Aha. A completely new background for the drow. I wonder what nasty critter was the third sibling named after, by the way.

Lolth isn't named after spiders, is she?

But in the arachnids, the next nasty would be the ticks. They're pretty much worse than spiders or scorpions since they're parasites. Then there's mites (often parasitic, but not always, responsible for allergies in either case), opiliones and solifugids.

I wonder whether all the gods of the YAFG-iverse are ascended beings...

I note that the drow's and scorpii's eyes have changed, adapting to their underground habitat.

Now it looks a bit strange that scorpii were hanging around in the caverns all that time and we never heard of them until recently. By the way, were the dark elves from the strip 2008 scorpii too? (Or maybe it was yet another evil elven folk? Maybe even the anticipated mite-worshipping one?)

I believe they were the one's that camwe with the Keeper's invasion.

The Scorpii have likely been driven from the area, even in ther flashback they were reffered to as a rare sight, if you're in a race war you're not going to set up camp next to a major enemy city.

Come to think of it, the Drow-Scorpii conflict explains Alzaer'bith's dismissal of the possibility of an alliance with the Keeper's dark elves beyond her general lack of diplomatic ability. If the drow have been fighting an underworld war with other evil elves all this time, they would be naturally reluctant to have any dealings with yet another competitor who shares the same environment... It's a minor miracle they let the dark elves stay around, even in caves they weren't using.

And it makes me suspect that Mahr'i has some sort of deal with the Scorpii even more. I may just be paranoid, but still...
