Oh f...
I really did not like Mah'ri but the cruelty of the whole scene made me flinch.
Great to finally see Lolth as Queen of Evil, by the way. Even the dorky last panel could not ameliorate what she did.

Wow.

Finally, we see the consequences of angering the Queen of the Demonweb Pits.

I don't know what's more frightening -- Lolth's punishment of Mah'ri, or in hindsight, realizing that's who Arachne's had as a "houseguest" all this time. ;)

I liked that she managed to top what she did to the priestess Mah'ri tricked her into punishing.

Yeah, the difference between being annoyed at someone and hating them.

Now would be a really bad time for Glon to kick in the doors, wouldn't it?

Nah, Glon did not do anything to her personally. She might even want to mend the fences that Mah'ri burned.

Yeah, Glon's not looking for Lolth. Just Mahri, who is no longer available.

In a possibly related question, if Lolth is slowly losing divinity by being on the Prime, how much did she just burn through?

I don;t think she's losing divitity so much as her perspectuve is growing more limited.

For me the more interesting question is where did Lolth learn the concept of mathematical infinity?
And do the drow slave numbers have some meaning, or Lolth has used the infinity sign just to emphasise Mah'ri's new position?

I like this look better on Lolth than the one she first appeared with; it's more honest.

Turning Mahr'i into a man to hammer home the lesson of how low she is bein pushed down? Yikes... It's as uncouth as turning a man into a woman for similar reasons, and shows how Lolth really feels about men in general.

The only difference is the horns, really. She's still a giant spider with a drow head.

First, I don't think it's an infinity sign, but rather the double loops from the (IIRC) brown recluse.

Second, numbers seem to be assigned as part of the lot number at the slave pens.
