Not that I don't want to see Rich's take on it but funny you should mention that.

And how about this for a crossover? The Eleventh Doctor meets Katniss from The Hunger Games. Or any of the classic Doctors meet Korra from The Legend of Korra?

The fanfic looks fun ... tho I honestly don't remember Slimer speaking - he squealed in pseudo talk scoobydoo fashion and mostly used pictograms that he projected - in his belly like as not - to communicate... but it's been a while. And I never watched that awful Slimer spin off, so maybe he talked in that.

I'll have to finish it later, but thanks for finding that!

You're welcome. For me, that crossover is pretty much well done and I like the choice of Doctor he used.

Sorry for another double post but this idea occurred to me; how about a crossover with Beauty and the Beast featuring the Seventh Doctor and Ace? And I mean the tv show, not the Disney movie.

hmm. They spoke in such slow deep voices on that show - I sometimes played it back on my DVD player at 2X and their voices sounded like normal speech <g> - I just have trouble picturing the fast talking Doctors interacting with them.

I read what was written of the Doctor Who and Real Ghostbuster crossover - and really was only disappointed that Ace hasn't shown up yet. I kept expecting her to appear with bat or a proton pack and take care of business.

Hmm, maybe if it were up to me; I could make it sort of a sequel to The Invasion and Attack of the Cybermen to make up for that. Perhaps there are still Cybermen in the sewers but migrated to New York?

It must be taking place before the 1996 tv movie.

Since The Real Ghostbusters happened in the eighties in NYC and the movie took place in San Francisco, the year 2000, I'm not sure how that would be relevant to the story, unless you were hoping for Paul to make an appearance.

No, it's not that. He is wearing the same outfit from the 1996 movie which had no question marks whatsoever. And quite frankly, I can see why the author removed that because it does look better on the guy.

But then again, maybe it took place at a time when Ace left or she probably had a cold or is out somewhere in New York.

The 7th Doctor meets the Real Ghostbusters without Ace??? What would be the point?

I really can't picture it being half as much fun if she isn't there at all. I am already frustrated just by the delay ... really, having the Doctor and Egon challenge each other in technobabble is all they can do without her.

Well, perhaps the intention is to accelerate the mystery of The Doctor.

For the sake of not hogging this thread into a discussion of just one crossover ... let's just say, I'm hoping for more than that.

With your Invasion of the Cybermen sequel in the sewers of NYC, how were you seeing that going?

(I thought it might be interesting if the cross over happen in Pete's World, but that would make it 21st century and Beauty long dead, with Vincent and his child now an adult living with him. Unless, being Pete's world, Catherine might be still alive, and we find out what happened with their child raised in both worlds, who he ended up becoming.)

I'll be honest, I had no clue when I thought of it. But maybe perhaps the Cybermen are in another area of the New York sewers and they've been kidnapping the homeless or at least people who won't be missed.

Beauty and the Beast had two different peoples living in the caverns under the sewers - the main village, so to speak, living in their Renaissance style clothing, led by Father, and another nomadic group made of wandering mad gangs, raised to violence and in a mindless cruelty, usually attacked like animals. Paracelsus, when he was alive, was sort of a leader to them ... or at least they did what he said rather than risk his wrath. There were a few other outsiders living among them ... all dressed in a more ragged and dark form of the same clothing as the villagers did.

I would imagine the second group would be grabbed first, and perhaps they'd learn to keep their distance. The villagers who lived with Father might be likely targets as well, but they actually specialized in being unnoticed and spying on folks who ventured down, so I'm thinking they'd find the Cybermen attacking sewer workers or subway folk, before they'd be found, and alert their above ground friends to the problem, after the mandatory 'what do we do about it' meeting.
I'm thinking a good starting point would be sending someone out to spy on the disappearance of the violent wanderers after their scattered belongs of stolen goods are found abandoned.

Makes sense in every department. I imagine the spy would end up being captured by the Cyber-Army. And I imagine Ace would go missing for a while in the sewers and ends up being found by Father, at least after kicking a few asses from the thugs.

Heh not bad - tho honestly I'd expect the spy to avoid being spotted by Cybermen, and the thugs be the easy prey the Cyber folk would find. Ace, tho, could handle whatever was thrown her way. Come to think of it, she and Mouse might blow up half of the Cybermen's base before the Doctor and Father and Vincent could stop them <g>

In related news, Beauty and the Beast has just renewed rebooted for CW.

The new version has been rewritten with the same names, but using the story of the Incredible Hulk. Catherine Chandler will be a detective instead of a reporter named McGee, but maybe that will be her partner's eventual role (Tess).

In this one, Catherine Chandler witnesses her mother's murder 10 yrs ago <coughCastlecough> but is saved by a mysterious figure that attacked like an animal. Now as a detective, she has traced her mysterious figure, that no one else believed in, to a Dr Vincent Keller, supposedly killed in Afghanistan in 2002. She discovers that he has lived outside society since developing an affliction that turns him into a super strong 'terrifying beast' with super strength & heightened senses when enraged. She agrees to keep his secret if he'll help her uncover clues to her mother's murder.

I'm hoping we'll get someone with Bill Bixby's talent for Vincent.

We'll see how it goes, and if the show is worthy of a crossover with another Doctor, perhaps, some day
