That Orc doesn’t scare you? What about THIS one? :p
When momma’s not happy, NOBODY is happy. Right now, momma is VERY not happy.
Caption for bottom panel: (said in calm neutral voice) "Boo."
Also knew Mrs B would suddenly appear.
Though "Let go now, and I’ll grant you a quick clean death." is running through my mind from Maula’s glare.
Well predicted. It was in the line of expectations, but you first mentioned it. And it works very well…
… you were the first to mention it….
I should pay more attention to my grammar.
Well predicted! Well done!
" ‘Let go now, and I’ll grant you a quick clean death.’ is running through my mind from Maula’s glare."
"Let go now, OR I’ll grant you a quick clean death" is a better threat for the Mistresses, isn’t it?
Caught between a Rock and a Hard place…
Or an orc and a deadly, angry Mrs B.
She realizes the only choice she has left is ‘quick and painful’ or ‘slow and agonizing’
She’s a dungeon mistress, so her priorities may be somewhat backwards. See http://yafgc.net/comic/2774-too-much-too-much/ .
The only choices the Dungeon Mistress has at this point, are which Orc will break her into small pieces first and will she be alive or dead before Scale pitches in?
So, "caught between an orc and a hard place"?
Mrs. B’s here.
Everything’s good now and we can all go home.
And I still predict that said Dark Mistress is going to get her arse booted all the way back to the wreckage of the Black Mountain. Possibly in pieces. Maula Bloodhand is in no mood to take anyone’s s(!@t right now, least of all some mook with a superiority complex.
To quote the Grail Knight: "She chose… poorly."
" So, basically…….run "
Nah, Maula’s angry enough without having to chase the enemy. Running would just make it worse for you.
The look on the Dark Mistress’s face says it all. "Well… I am screwed."
‘POP!’ goes the Dark Mistress’s head.
Finish your sentence, dear. Just because…what?
But *you*, I am *terrified* of.
Gaggia looks like the world’s most threatening can punch.
t!
Dark Mistress: Is it too late to pledge my loyalty?
Maula: Yes.
Dark Mistress: Is it too late for me to hope for a painless death.
Gagia: Yes.
Dark Mistress: How about a quick death?
Maula: grrrr….
Gagia: I’d be more woried about still being alive after she’s done.
As Ørjan noted above, a Dark Mistress would consider "painless" a bad thing. She’d *prefer* to be tortured…
So the above conversation should have been…
Dark Mistress: Is it too late to pledge my Loyalty?
Maula: Yes.
Dark Mistress: Is it too late for me to hope for a slow painful death?
Gaggia: Yes.
Dark Mistress: How about a quick painful death?
Maula: Grrrr…
Gaggia: I’d be more worried about still being alive after she’s done.
you don’t need to roll for intimidation if your skill is already higher then the check.
DM: OK, what’s your passive intimidation?
Before or after I calculate my bonus?
Don’t forget Maula’s newly-awarded bonus for being the Queen Under the Mountain…Because she literally WAS under the remains of the mountain just a short time ago.
Either it goes:
"I’m not afraid of you!"
"What about her?"
*well, I’m boned…*
Or
"I’m not afraid of you!"
"You shouldn’t be. I was just distracting you long enough for her to get close.*
*GULP*
