Scale, Hank, Handler and Gertrude are all visiting us from “Cowboys and Crossovers”

Drawn by Ron Bender (Well, when they aren’t being drawn by me, that is…)
… I’m beginning to believe she is not so fond of her companion blade? 🙂
Which may be misnamed. It’s not "Coward’s Sword" it’s "Coward Sword"
This is why you don’t enchant intelligent swords with special abilities they can use without the wielder’s permission.
So that’s NOT a disguise?
t!
Her bark is worse than her bite. 😉
I must say she is showing a surprising amount of loyalty to that thing. Does part of the curse override a person’s natural desire to chuck it as far away as possible?
Maybe a "if you throw me away, i will always come back to you, the only way i will not do it is when you are dead"-enchantment on the sword?
If the sword was just returning then she could stuff it in her bag of holding and ignore it. The problem is she keeps using it when she should have other swords in her helmet she can use instead.
Find a rock with a little crack in it. Jam the sword in there then spread the rumour that anybody that can pull it out gets a big reward. Hightail it before anybody can yank the thing free.
That looks like it *wood* be the coward’s way…
She seems to be branching out, getting to the root of the problem! But she’s acting like such a weeping willow here, she might be pine-ing for her sword to work better… Really, she should just leaf it alone, and just take a bough on her way out, wouldn’t you say? Otherwise some beastie might tree her like a raccoon, but hopefully she’ll be oak-ay, even if she’s seeing red, which might leave an ash-en taste in her mouth. Hmm… She looks a bit petrified here, she might be a bit sappy after this… She’s so mad, she’s acting like a real birch. Still, she’d be a fool to palm that sword off on someone else, y’know? Some poor sapling adventurer with that sword? Then again, she’s pretty green herself in this world! Perhaps someone maple her out of there? Maybe help her spruce up? Or am bark-ing up the wrong tree with these puns? Maybe I am, your expressions are a bit wooden…
As well she should!
