Well, Lewie more or less always looks far, far more sour. I mean, comparing the recently dead after several centuries of being dead to someone who’s been undead for … Lord. I forget the timeline on him now. But I think Lewie is a millennia undead? Several millennia undead?
Anyway. For someone who’s been dead for several centuries, these guys look downright chipper. And are quite mentally sharp. Beginning to wonder if they will gradually reconstitute more and more the longer they’re alive. These guys are undead, they were fully raised from the dead, somewhat (or truly?) Resurrected.
Still waiting for another major shoe to drop here: just how many of them are there? Was it just a few local to where the dust was dumped out? Or, is the dust blowing around the city raising the dead from all the centuries? One means a squad, the other means an army. And, there should/could also be quite a number of people (including women & children & other races) from all walks of life, not necessarily soldiers.
These guys from Queen Glamor’s personal guard knew to seek out the Library. Might be a lot of other confused folks wandering about with a good bit less focus.
Arrghh. *These guys are undead* was meant to be the negative … these guys are NOT undead. At least, not the way we’re used to it from other, more nefarious necromancy.
Damn. Y’know I thought there was something wrong with that panel and I just couldn’t figure out what it was. This is why I prefer doing these things before the last possible second.
Yeah, from his surprise, I’d guess he died defending her from said impeachment and before they ran her out of Elegrost. Didn’t live long enough to see her escape.
No, it could have been after the impeachment and after a sentence of death but before the escape. Notice his shock that she lived. Obviously he expected her to be killed, from the death sentence, and the fact that she escaped is news to him.
Actually not at all uncommon for warrior cultures; it was believed they would need them in the afterlife, so the dead warriors would be burred with them.
Of course, most of the time it would be leather armour, maybe a chain shirt, and swords were rare outside of particularly well equipped armies (usually maces, axes, and spears).
Its how they have been finding out that there were Viking warrior women. Vikings that were most likely female by their bone structure, but buried with all the martial trappings of a warrior.
But it’s been stated this was the site of an actual battleground, in which case it strikes me it’s possible they weren’t buried at all. Depending on just how badly things went for everybody concerned.
I mean if every person left standing’s got like eight or forty-three dudes to bury, no-one left to feed them or pay them to do it, and a heck of a long walk home…
Well, yeah, I guess, for a while! I guess she didn’t get killed here, so that’s good, but its still been a very long time, so she eventually died of SOMETHING.
People are assuming that Torvid Mak was a supporter of Queen Glamor, but I think it’s also possible that he was not. It’s possible that when he says "nobody was ready for her ideas," he means "they were really, really bad ideas for the time." And when he says "she lived?" he means "damn, we didn’t manage to kill her?"
The response of "Indeed" to Leland calling her a "visionary" seems to be suggesting that Captain Mak thinks highly of Queen Glamor, as does suggesting that others weren’t "ready for her ideas." I’m sensing "she was way ahead of her time" from both Mak and Leland, said reverently, but of course, that’s merely speculation on my part.
Either way, it would probably be best to tell him the truth about history & how long they’ve been dead. Whether they decide to fight to restore Galmour’s descendant to the throne or not, they’ll probably at least want to clear out Rannites too.
At any rate, it’s probably not wise to lie to a group of Revenant soldiers…As single-minded of purpose as they are, what if they later find out that you lied to them? Yeah, I wouldn’t want to risk that.
Ummm okay… the undead seem to be as confused as I am… theories anyone?
What point(s) are you confused on? So far, this has been pretty straightforward.
My money is this undead army tries to put her descendant on the throne of elgerost (or at least try and save descendant from the rannites).
And if she got run off to the goblin lands said descendant may not be human.
So Karak might be the rightful king of Elegrost after all!
Bite your tongue! 🙂
(There was a smiley emoticon that seems to have gotten lost)
Can’t be Karak. The one true king is…Captain Fang!
What about runtherts fiance, we are still not sure of her faith. maybe she is a great grandchild of this queen?
Queen glamor ended up marrying into the bloodhand clan way backand is one of Glons ancesstors
mother of havelock the half orc maybe?
The guard on the left @screen 4. Damn, whatta a face. You can’t get more sour-looking than that!
The face of the monday morning…

We *know* they’re going to the shopping mall…
t!
That was awesome. Thank you.
Seems only fair to return the favour from time to time.
I almost prefaced it with "Given who’s writing this comic… "
t!
He just got up on the wrong side of the grave this morning.
Once again, Glon proves his superpower to grow a beard within one panel… 😉
Also never forget his lesser ability to shed his beard without a trace, as noted from panel 2 to panel 5
Damn. Y’know I thought there was something wrong with that panel and I just couldn’t figure out what it was. This is why I prefer doing these things before the last possible second.
Easy fix, I should think 😉
In fairness, recent events are likely enough to scare the beard right off of one’s face!
It’s expressionism – Glon is reminiscing.
t!
Maybe it was some sort of time lapse effect emanating from the raise dead dust – given Glon died once he might not be immune to all affects
Clearly this guy died prior to learning about his queen’s impeachment.
Yeah, from his surprise, I’d guess he died defending her from said impeachment and before they ran her out of Elegrost. Didn’t live long enough to see her escape.

Unlikely, "ran her out" means that they chased her away.
Whoa. After YEARS of missed updates, I was NOT ready to catch up already.
So when they died they were buried with all their armour and weapons. Wouldn’t have been saved for some else to use, they are expensive.
Actually not at all uncommon for warrior cultures; it was believed they would need them in the afterlife, so the dead warriors would be burred with them.

>it was believed they would need them in the afterlife
Not incorrectly in this case.
Leather armour was practically nonexistent historically. Men who didn't have mail would wear cloth gambeson.
Glon and his silver tongue, huh?
Well, yeah, I guess, for a while! I guess she didn’t get killed here, so that’s good, but its still been a very long time, so she eventually died of SOMETHING.
Are we so sure? A common trope in media is if you don’t see the body they’re still alive somehow.
This also can apply to the tragic half-orc berserker girl. I’d want to give her a hug…. if I didn’t think she’d kill me.
Granted though in this comic the Undead are a thing so even if Glamor still “exists” somehow, as an Undead, she still did die at least once so…
Then again if she transferred her soul into a Construct body did she technically die?
I need to stop speculating on fantasy gamer webcomics when sleep deprived.
Looking at that last panel, I can’t help but think of a certain comedic movie… "She’s alive?!" "She’s nohs-feratu." "…she’s Italian?!"
Now I must go see ‘Dracula – Dead and Loving it’.
panel 6 – Glon’s face neatly displays the affect of Torvid Mak’s breath weapon?
Well, after sleeping for so long, it seems he forgot to brush his teeth, sooooo…
This would be a good time to say "She lived, thanks to you."
Would be better to say, she was doing just fine, until the Rannites killed her 😀
People are assuming that Torvid Mak was a supporter of Queen Glamor, but I think it’s also possible that he was not. It’s possible that when he says "nobody was ready for her ideas," he means "they were really, really bad ideas for the time." "Captain of Her Royal Majesty’s personal guard," would seem to hint otherwise, but there’s always the possibility he turned on her…
