Not sure why the printer decided to turn all the panels’ vertical lines into A – A – A – A in morse code… but it did for the next few strips at least. So… sorry about that.

And to add a bit of background info, I got my ham radio license back in 1976 when it was still necessary to know Morse Code in order to get a license.

I was going to try and decipher the Morse Code. But, I realized it might have been embedded into the strip by Ranna and might summon Cthulu. Or something worse. Better safe than sorry, ignorance is bliss.

Is it only me, or Lady Malyss does really look a bit like Cadugan?
Hmm. Can undead be turned to stone? I forget the rules on that.
No more than you can turn a steak to stone. How do you petrify someone who has experienced death itself? The Undead cannot be turned to stone, they either don’t care or are unfazed by any attempts.
On the contrary – in the various D&D editions I have handy, undead have a lot of immunities, but petrification isn’t one of them. Turning dead flesh to stone works just as well as it does on living creatures…
Of course, by a strict reading, that includes incorporeal undead, which would be kind of silly…
In 3.5 they are immune to Fortitude save effects that do not affect objects. Flesh to Stone is one of them and the Medusa’s gaze attack is similar.
This actually came up in our Pathfinder group last session (although I’m not sure if it carries to standard D&D). Undead are immune to conditions that allow fortitude saves, unless they are harness or call also target objects, which covers most of the actual petrification sources (that we could find at least).

Is Lady Malyss not a gorgon, then? Or can she flip between looking gorgony and looking normal?
I admit, I was fooled by the "camera angle" as well, and didn’t see the snakey bits until looking at the "Lady Malyss" tagged comics.
She’s still a Gorgon. Rich said last year (I think… am doing a full read thru), that the ladies all turn kinda differently. Some keep hair and get snakes too, some just get snakes, but lose the hair, and even "one turned into a snake on her lower half, human woman above the waist."
I’m thinking, This is Her.
