"Citation needed", as they say. I do not recall that the past chapters—since Ranna woke up—have shown scenes from the land of the Hobbits. Could it be that the catastrophe, cataclysms and catalysts of catafalques (I excel in catachreses) have not reached that far… yet?
By the way, first post after a binge read. This is a phenomenally fantastic fable of freewheeling frivolity, fraternity and friction verging on the frightful that will forever remain in the annals of fantasy fandom.
The elaborate intertwined stories, the character development, the pacing of the frames, the expressiveness of a few simple strokes, and above all, the humour and fun, make a powerful mix that I have rarely seen anywhere. Certainly not for as long as this story has gone on. Long may it continue!
Yeah, it’s not like Halflings are so important that someone would bother to keep them in a reality bubble, is it?
It is incredibly dangerous to look into a palantÃr 😛
Scroll reads as follows if sent to my character and those of my players.
"Dear Adventurer, I hope this letter finds you whole, well and alive, or at least a sentient Undead with an intact body.
We are sending out a summons to rally support against Ranna and her forces. Please RSVP soon."
Given how long I’ve played D&D (and other fantasy RPGs), that would be a LOT of adventurers (and families) showing up to help.
How they managed to miss all those folks hanging mostly dead all around as they walked by them is beyond me… though maybe will learn that.
"…as they walked by them…"

Should you get into a conversation with Leland and Trevor, I will worry about what C’hrynne may do to you….. 😉

Or a Dragon Orb.

Usually I don’t (‘access’ – ghah! vomit spit), but I do like how ‘adventure’ has become a verb.
