Hm, Clover never mentioned having one in her family. I wonder if Halflings are less racist about half-bloods; Urzal sure seems to be part of the social circle of the other kids, not like Glon or Jone.
I don’t know… looks more like a Glon nose to me. And goblins have a lot larger ears and are rather short. Urzal is obviously taller than the other kids.
Yeah, hobgoblin or bugbear would be my guess. Some kind of taller goblinoid.
And Urzal seems to be enjoying life in the halfling commune way more than Glon or Jone ever did in the human cities. Seems like a great community all around; Mrs. Hunter made a good choice where to let Ryann grow up. Now to protect them all from the Rannites…
That Princess Glamor had half-orc daughters… who then were exiled. That was a long time ago, and the youngest daughter was already a teen then… but this might be a descendant?
She looks like a half-orc to me. Half-orcs are tolerated (sort of) among the "good" races in the D&D rule books, and since Rich used that as the starting point for his world-building, it would fit in here. Particularly given that orcish relations with the surface dwellers have improved under Bloodhands.
Is Urzal an half-orc?
Sure looks like one!

Rich said Clover’s flashback was 39 years ago. Urzal was almost certainly not born then.
Part goblin, maybe? She reminds me a bit of Gren in that last panel…
At least she has pointy ears, not like the others. So definitly a halfblood. Seems to be goblin.

But "Firelight"? That’s CLOVER’S family name…
Interesting… interesting…
Unlikely. One orc ancestor a hundred and fifty years ago? I doubt that would show at all.
The kids investigate…which means, next comes the meddling! 😀
Zoinks!
