Maybe I’m slow on the uptake and everyone already realized this…but looking back at the Hunter-vs.-Niko arc, the Dark Mistresses now serving Flannet Hunter were both blonde.
Worst case: Rannites have come to the halfling village after all.
Best case: Word has spread that Flannet’s Rebels offer a way out for Rannites having second thoughts.
(Or in between, maybe there were just more DM survivors of the battle at Greyfort than the two we saw.)
Hahahah! Actually that’s a great observation! There’s actually a reason for this, but I gave up on the specific strip that would explain it. The two Mistresses are terrified that they’ll be recognized as two of those ‘lost’ in the reclaiming of Castle Greyfort. So to disguise them Flannet does their hair differently. Joke being that it’s the only way they can be told apart.
"…and it’s ESPECIALLY your fault for saying something like ‘it’s peaceful and safe here’ out loud. Are you TRYING to get ganked?"
(Though the DMs can be glad that the same narrative laws that won’t let them get away with tempting the gods like that, also allow concussions to cause spinning stars, tweeting birds, and benign blackouts, rather than brain swelling and CTE.)
During the last strips, I always had the same returning thought: Unnecessary rescue-attempts either end comically or dramatically, depending on the reactions of the people that "should be rescued", and/or the ones "from whom they should be rescued". I still wonder in which direction it will go. I think Flannet’s reaction to Orc-face will be funny. The rest will depend on the reactions of the Mistresses… I hope for funny on their side too.
That second panel reminds me of that thing my dad used to have on his desk, with the five suspended marbles. It’s good to know the kids are working on their Newtonian physics.
Never trust a halfling with a rock.
You see them stoop, you run.
I seem to recall some kid named David that had similar size proportions to his giant opponent too, with a similar outcome too.
That David kid was a piker next to our halflings. He only got half the result our rock-thrower got.
Oddly enough, the two D&D races most associated with rock throwing – halflings and giants.
Titan: "What are ‘giants’?"
Human: (points to a giant.)
Titan: "Ah. Halflings. Did you know they’re great at throwing rocks?"
These Mistresses are so doomed! They are not named characters!
(Not that being a named character prevents you from dying….)
Never make a general statement…
Oh, fuzzballs!

Awww, Flannet is such a good boss. Their OLD officers never would have been so considerate.
"Hold still, dammit." (SLICE) "There, no one will ever recognize you. Last time they saw you, you had hair. And more of your scalp."
Ryann: "Oh gosh, I’m SO sorry, I forgot to yell fore! Well it’s your own fault for wearing such dark outfits while I’m practicing my golf swing."

That "crack" is not a good sound.
By which I, of course, mean – not good for the Mistresses.
Knocking out 2 Misstresses with 1 stone. No wonder the title for this strip is fitting.
It’s the beginning of a bad joke, I suppose 😛

t!
A Newton’s Cradle. Yes, lol
That was my reply to t!
The light haired Mistress…I think while converted she is not exactly a follower of Ranna.
