3285 An Old Disagreement
on December 11, 2019
Chapter: Gathering Storm
Characters: Ayane the Ninja, Goldwolf the Pirate, Philip the Paladin, Rowan the Pirate Ninja Boy, Slissy the Warlock, William the Barbarian
Location: Western T'Pangport
Rowan is Ayane and Goldwolf’s kid, then? Placing a bet on what his first words were: an long stretch of uncanny, alert silence. His next words were a string of bar jokes and pickup lines.
At least Rowan’s not the cabin boy named ‘Bob’ 😛
We already have two Bobs in this comic 😀
Yes, but this ‘Bob’ is a ‘Bobette’ 😛
Oh, Cabin Boy Smith, sir.
Smith has tits.
He’s been a bit ill, sir.
Get her off!
(didn’t realize until just now what a poor choice of words that last line was…)
I’m surprised we haven’t seen the Eric that upset an incompetent wizard and is now known as Eric the Half-a-Bee.
"And now for something completely different."
Argh, that was supposed to go after NotRichard’s reply to Nick.
Gah, people either get the reference or they don’t.
It would help if there were some kind of ‘Rowan Atkinson’ typeface or something.
Yeah, it’s how he pronounced it that would have totally giving the game away 😀
And Eric, that wasn’t a poor choice of words, that was the punchline, to leave everyone (including the other person) wondering if they really did hear sir correctly, and if _he_ knew what he had said 😛
By the way, which Eric are you? We have seen Eric I, III & IV
I see, Ayane’s working as a bodyguard now.
Let him be, when Ayane became a gorgon and his ship is shunken, then he will change his mind
Save the world first, then moral judgment.
So Goldwolf was a pirate. Reminds me of the old early Internet meme about Pirates vs. Ninjas, but this pirate and this ninja decided to make love, not war.
Where did he get the ninja lady? I want one! 😛
We don’t know the where, but for the when we can say it was a long time ago, since they were going steady already back when we first met them:

(And she never takes her ninja mask off, even during intimate moments, as page 2700 proves.)
Well duh she never takes the mask off, if she’s a real ninja. "The Adventures of Dr. McNinja" has taught me that much, at least. XD
I lijke to think Ayane and Goldwolf were the sole survivors of a fearsome battle between ninjas and pirates. (This was over a decade in the past, of course, so the ninja-vs.-pirate thing was still a thing.)
With both their vessels reduced to flaming splinters, they ended up clinging to the same bit of smoldering driftwood, and had no choice but to work together to survive. As dictated by the Laws of Narrative Causality, they saved each other’s lives enough times to develop a grudging mutual respect…and the rest is history.
No, the rest is Rowan 😉
That zip came from the sound of an extendable leash 😛
And a very loud, but muffled (that mask is thicker than it looks 😛 ), snarl 🙂
Turns out, she can talk, just no one can hear her through the mask 😀
Ah, of course, a Mask of Holding!
Ayane is actually chatting up a storm, giving a nonstop running commentary on everything she sees, does, and thinks. But you’ll never hear her because there’s 60 miles of interdimensional space between her mouth and the outside of her mask.
Yup, that mask was placed on her as the only means of silencing her (you… don’t want to hear what she sounds like when she’s sleeping :shudder: )
You see a pirate Captain in a receiving chair, you know that either he’s developed leg problems, or he’s become a pompous ass.
t!
Going to go with option… Both
It’s not even his cabin: where is the big window that runs the full width of the boat? Where is the fancy oversized desk he sits behind? Where is the random crate of fake loot?
Or he’s developed a pompous leg problem…
