Yeah, she didn’t notice, simply because she just walked in and is currently occupied with Ranna Herself about to arrive, she has no reason to even _suspect_ that her daddy is no longer branching out
Sahar is a priestess of Ranna now. Given her previous status beforehand, likely not just any priestess, but one of high rank. In a heavily despotic system, where the true ruler is the actual goddes herself, that can easily put her above the caliph. It seems to me, the wordly rulers are now in charge of the countries and stuff, but they all have to obey the high-priestesses, who are in direct connection with Ranna…
Still don’t recall him being appointed Caliph, Sahar was still treating him like a nobody who was only released from his mirror cell because of his limited usefulness
I daresay he was appointed Caliph to make him more motivated to be useful… and besides, the title is pointless now anyway, as he’s learning. It’s a bit like handing your kid brother the unplugged game controller while you’re playing on the real one.
…which is totally consistent with her treating him as the Caliph. Compared to Ranna’s high priestess, the Caliph IS a nobody, tolerated for his limited usefulness.
If Kurassa is telling the truth about being the new Caliph, then presumable Sahar appointed him to the role, to take care of all those mundane details of governance that are beneath her station.
Probably, just, he wasn’t acting like a Caliph until _after_ releasing the real Caliph and then him bragging that _he_ is now the Caliph instead of the Caliph (wow, that brings back pleasant memories, can’t remember the series where the vizier was trying to be the Caliph instead of the Caliph, it was similar to Asterix but wasn’t Asterix)
Yups, Sahar probably thought Kur was simply abusing _another_ slave, let’s wait and see if she gets a good look at who was doing the punching (or if she realises what room they are in)
It’s a minor tweak, but after Kurassa’s rant about getting to make the decisions, it might have been a bit funnier if Sahar’s last comment for the strip was "Wise decision."
Looks like it hurts.
Something tells me, Sahar doesn’t know who was beating the Kur
And who appointed him the new Caliph anyway? He is a servant of Sahar
I don’t think she even NOTICED… the Rannites tend to end up acting like Ranna herself, and Ranna is a self absorbed little twit…

NotRichard: Iznogoud. Yeah they’re similar, both originally written by Goscinny, but with different artists.
Thank you 😀
He DOES have it coming.
Also – typo panel 4 – should be THE battle
No matter who they are, mortals fear deities.
Most ‘deities’ actually… aren’t, they just want you to _believe_ they are

It’s really not his day, is it?
Was Sahar being converted shown in a strip or was it done "off screen"?
Off screen, between https://www.yafgc.net/comic/2878-failed-warning/ and https://www.yafgc.net/comic/2880-the-serpents-vengeance/
Anyone else waiting for the family reunion?
Especially since it looks like no more than a few seconds have passed between the last punch and today’s panel one?

It’s better with only one syllable. Flatter & more direct. Sibilance & cadence work better, too.
t!
True, but Kur had just said, in panel two, that _he_ is the one to make the decisions
I’ve been meaning to compliment you for a while now on your choice of username. Impeccably on point.
