If she decides to take up her father’s mantle when he retires, she could definitely hide her horns in the ears of the costume. Of course, right now she had her royal responsibilities.
Well that doesn’t mean she can’t still be The Fox. After all, masked vigilantes are often someone with power who is frustrated that they can’t fix certain things and decide to go out and handle it personally in a disguise. Zorro, Batman, etc.
That face in the last panel does not look like one that wants to kill him. Personally, I’m hoping she keeps her new half-demon look (reminds me of a DnD tiefling), but manages to retain her good alignment.
Because if all the not-good characters end up dead, where’s the interesting dynamics? The conflict?
And didn’t say she had to be ‘evil’ or even a Rannite (which she can’t help being, seeing how she is the granddaughter of Ranna Herself), just not-good
You can have plenty of interesting character dynamics and conflict with characters of the same alignment, and even introduce new ones to fill the ‘not good’ void.
Though having characters of previously good and neutral alignments who were corrupted by Ranna or her minions remain so would make Ranna’s eventual defeat ring a tad hollow in my mind. So I’m still hoping for Ch’thier or someone else with enough power to somehow undo at least the brainwashing aspects if not fully revert the corrupted characters to normal.
As I said, I hope Anna manages to overcome Ranna’s influence and retain her good alignment because she chooses to be good and not due to magic suppressing her demonic side (preferably with a ‘Screw you’ tossed in towards Ranna).
If this was Monty Python NONE of those things would happen. They were big on improv and would not recycle established jokes like that.
More likely that C’thier would tell Ranna, "I will defeat you with love!" before pulling out a strapon. Or the viking raiders that Lewstrom hated would show up, "sorry we’re late!"Or time travelling orcs in modern military gear would show up, accompanied by a prim faced man in a business suit who hands Ranna an overdue bill before confiscating her powers. Or… well, something, anything that would be new and original for Monty Python.
I hope he was a father of half orc girl (the Gruumsh chosen one) or The Fox is Dread Pirate Roberts-esque figure whose persona has been given from one man to another.
Perhaps when the sisters were entombed in their respective cities, the followers of Ch’Thier selected a champion to seek out and stop the followers of Ranna from tipping the balance. An amulet or ring could stop the aging process until such a time that any danger had passed. The Fox persona is simply a cover to hide the identity of the champions true purpose. As a follower of Ch’Thier, he gets to go around doing good deeds as a bonus in-between his regular gig of stopping Rannites. That’s my take anyways.
now that you mention it… how long ago was the Rannite uprising where they were entombed? nobody seems to know who Ranna is except the people who fought her, so I had just assumed it happened hundreds of years ago and had fallen out of public memory, but that girl looks to be late 20’s early 30’s, I had assumed the fox was somewhere in his 40’s. Lewie spent hundreds of years becoming a lich, his sister was kept from aging because she was chosen to guard the body of Ranna so it had to have happened shortly after their kingdom was taken over by vikings, since the goddesses are the same race as Lewie they had to rise to power before their entire people were wiped out, I’m not 100% sure on how long halflings live, but humans like the fox definitely wouldn’t have survived that long. this revelation is throwing the entire timeline into question.
RPG Top Tip: When the npc you are fighting and is about to win, just say "You are my son/daughter" and they instantly give up. Try it out on a bugbear near you!
when a monster is about to eat you just whip out your junk, shit on the floor and rub it all over yourself whilst moaning orgasmically. there’s about a 95% chance they’ll lose their appetite and wander away mentally scared.
5% chance they’ll be really into it and join you, then you’re sorta trapped letting it play out.
Poor Anna – imagine her telling her own kids one day when they ask "How did you find out about granddad?" "It’s a looooong story…"
"In the middle of a battle field REALLY?!" "To be fair it was the only way to stop me from strangling him."
OK -so maybe you skip some of the parts… or all of them 😉
I love Anna’s expressions here, from to confusion and the so lost. The Fox looks so sad too, despite the mask hiding most of his facial expressions. God I love good art <3
Funny thing is, all 3 of them are right. Here I mean Saidrah, Shawn and Anna, and what they said in the last 2 strips. It’s really a matter of perspective. Ultimately though, the only thing what will matter, how Anna wants to see herself.
Now the fun part will be to see how many years it takes for Rich to give us all the info we need to know if the Fox is a long lifed being, shared consciousness that takes new bodies when needed or something else entirely. Heck, we atill don’t know how he fathered Jone without remembering it.
Awkward!
Her horns look like little fox ears.
You can kill him later Anna, when you have more time to make it hurt
That face in the last panel does not look like one that wants to kill him. Personally, I’m hoping she keeps her new half-demon look (reminds me of a DnD tiefling), but manages to retain her good alignment.
That’s a look of confusion
Yes, I too hope, no matter the outcome (personally hoping she remains not-good) she retains her new appearance
Why would you hope she remains not-good? That’s almost as crazy as hoping Ranna wins.
Anyone on the Rannite side coming out of this redeemed/restored/otherwise freed of her influence is a victory.
Because if all the not-good characters end up dead, where’s the interesting dynamics? The conflict?

The Fox cast Confusion, it is super effective
If this was Monty Python the police would arrive and arrest everyone. Thankfully Rich has a larger budget. 😛
If this was Month Python, a giant foot would come down and squish Ranna
If this were Monty Python, there would be a dead parrot somewhere, nailed to a case of Spam surrounded by crunchy frogs walking silly.
If this was Monty Python there’d be a group of lumberjacks wearing suspenders telling everyone they’re ok.
If this was Monty Python NONE of those things would happen. They were big on improv and would not recycle established jokes like that.

*time travelling orcs in modern military gear*
I see someone has read the book "Grunts!"
C’thier mounting Ranna with a strap-on sounds more like Oglaf… but I still love this idea. 😉 ❤️
I hope he was a father of half orc girl (the Gruumsh chosen one) or The Fox is Dread Pirate Roberts-esque figure whose persona has been given from one man to another.
I’m curious: What other options did you imagine?
Perhaps when the sisters were entombed in their respective cities, the followers of Ch’Thier selected a champion to seek out and stop the followers of Ranna from tipping the balance. Perhaps Shaun simply forgot to grow old and die.
He may have been significantly distracted.
Much like falling at the ground and missing.
I was imagining a Dread Pirate Roberts-Raquel figure, assuming if it was your idea.
Trust Rich to find an example of a time where "Let’s talk about this later" is appropriate rather than avoidance.
And love wins again!
t!
Dr. Who was summed up by Craig Ferguson, not long ago, as "the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism."
This is also something I deeply love about YAFGC, and I suspect you do, too.
Add me to that list, Rancourt. That’s a big reason why I love YAFGC.
Thirded for inclusion on the list!
"The alligator speaks the truth…"
You are correct in your summation of his character, my profane rabbit friend. 😉

"I…I just don’t see the resemblance," said the peryton.
And then, he ate me.

O shit – don’t do that when Otyughs are around.
they are the 5%
I tried that. I’m still paying back dated child support to the Ogre
To the ogre’s credit, he’s a very dutiful son and sends a card made from macaroni and mashed up elf brains every Father’s Day.
Poor Anna – imagine her telling her own kids one day when they ask "How did you find out about granddad?" "It’s a looooong story…"
"In the middle of a battle field REALLY?!" "To be fair it was the only way to stop me from strangling him."

HOW MANY DAUGHTERS DOES THIS GUY HAVE!?!
Let’s count!
Two? Anna and Jone. Wouldn’t know of many more, and even with Jone, I’m not 100% sure.
One is a psychopath, and the other one just tried to kill him. Clearly his hands-off approach to parenting isn’t working!
Now the fun part will be to see how many years it takes for Rich to give us all the info we need to know if the Fox is a long lifed being, shared consciousness that takes new bodies when needed or something else entirely. Heck, we atill don’t know how he fathered Jone without remembering it.
Oh no. The change has caused her to grow a goatie in the last panel.
Jk 😛
Hah! Yergh!
Dammit, now I’m never gonna unsee that. Evil Anna is a traditionalist, I guess.
I’ll bet a Scooby Snack will calm her down now.
Or give her superpowers!
Or a Snickers Bar.
Priorities, Anna!
…How many of this guys daughters are being manipulated by/granted power by evil gods? He’s two for two.
Clearly if you want to lure out an evil god, you just let this guy have a kid and they’ll be like "oh don’t mind if I do weird stuff to that kid"
