Ditto. I copied some of this to a translator page, and it identfied it as Portuguese! Lolol and when I manually input it as from French, it still sounded mistranslated
So, what does it mean?

And by tracking he’ll crack the case. They’ll know him as the Gnu t/cracker.
When we were playing with classes/skills in this situation the best combinations were rogue (urban tracker), ranger (rural tracker) and bard (talking and influencing people). Some person of rank like a noble or priest also helped.
Of course there is some overlap between rogue and ranger or bard and person of rank.
It does dovetail nicely with an earlier observation that I made, that Cadugan is more of the Sherlock Holmes sort of detective, very observant of the little details. Lucas as the noble is more of an Agatha Christie detective, more attuned to the psyche of the perpetrator and a better judge of each witnesses motivations.

I can’t begin to tell you how many TV shows, books, movies, etc. I’ve heard of but have never watched, read, or listened to. Cagney and Lacey is one of those shows. It was only because of how well their names work with Cadugan and Lucas that made me think of it.
It’s not just so many books, so little time anymore, it’s so many forms of media, so little time.

Rich, I love the sketch of the bovine creature you posted up there just below the comic. I’m guessing it’s character art for a player we haven’t yet met in the card tournament — maybe this is her first year, so she’s not yet used to socializing with all the old-timers. But you can tell from that ruminating expression on her face that she is aware of some crucial bit of information that could crack this case wide open.
Mark my words: when all is revealed, the whole monastery will be saying, "The new gnu gnu knew!"
I suspect, like you do, Mucat, that this is the first of several bovine characters, and they’re all named Elle. It’s no wonder that, like the stores, we’re seeing her now. Yes, it’s time for the first Gnu-Elle.
