Hmmm…skat is random sounds strung together in a lighthearted rythmic manner, that must be why I see so much of today’s ‘music’ as complete crap, it’s neither lighthearted or rhythmic 😉
Agreed about Cadugan getting a palm-shaped scar. He also looks like he nearly put his eye out–depending on how fast palm met face.
Also, kudos for the composition.
For whatever weird reason–spatial issues, etc.–I always seem to "forget" otyugh/neo-otyugh have eyestalks whenever I see pictures of them–especially from the original Monster Manual.
Those huge mouths always draw more of my attention, and the eyestalks always looked like an afterthought. My brain could never connect them properly. (This included some of the early strips, sadly. My bad.)
These recent strips with Yeecch, the expressions–it *finally* clicked.
I’m sure this is one of the odder things to single out, but–thanks, Rich!

I’m a scat man!
RIP John Larkin
WAIT! What?! *goes and checks* 1999??!??!? WTF where the hell have I been!?
Search for "Scatman – John Larkin – John Larkin1986" on YouTube. Some very funky beats going on there. 😀
Sorry Rich, I couldn’t resist. My one spam post per year allowance is now used up.
Cadugan’s going to end up with a palm-shaped scar on his face at that rate.
Cadugan and Lilianne are dismayed by the pun. But they should realize it’d be a lot worse if it weren’t a pun.
They’re underestimating Brother Yeecch’s deductive prowess, too. His elegant solution to the mystery will catch everyone by surprise.
"Why Brother Yeecch, how could you deduce the precise identities and motives of all the conspirators based only on shifts in their diets?"
"Alimentary, my dear friends."
I remember that joke. It was in "Diamonds Are forever".
Drum roll…bidet-boom!
well played.

A good example is the song "I wanna be like you" from Disney’s original Jungle Book movie. Louis Prima and Phil Harris both do Scat in that song.

can’t forget the original scatman himself…

The worst and the best at the same time.

I love that you wrote this.
One of the main reasons I get excited when Bob pops up in these pages is all the different eyeball expressions.
t!
Broth Yeecch also can’t help but do the count off: he certainly enjoys a one and a two.
He’s an accomplished poluscat. :/
I can imagine a black dragon would be into acid house. And everyone knows that dwarves are into heavy metal.
But we are getting ahead of ourselves with this baroque search for puns.
Dwarves are into Heavy Mithril, to be precise.

That was a major groaner. Thank you 🙂
