Maybe she wouldn’t mind humiliating the victim’s dad as revenge for him humiliating her grandpa. That was after all the motive Carruther suspected her to have.
Maula not knowing Prattroot is non-lethal to wood elves? I find that very difficult to believe. We have to remember she is as cunning as she is brutal.
I suspect she was making a joke: "Aw shucks" is a punchline for Maula, not a normal surprised comment. Note her laughing her head off in the next panel.
