Upvoted. Its a thing that happens to custom built HTML code as they update requirements at the server, without telling clients, assuming everyone uses 3rd party website builders or employs a maintenance coder. Stupid, tedious I'm sure for the owner, but just glad for the update.
Because that is 100% true of Maula, though I think she'd be much more a fan of personally capturing and then lording it over the one who tried framing the orc. Torture's not always about chains and gears, and she does think far more than these ladies give her credit for. Plus she's in rocky ally territory and she wouldn't kill without provably good reason. Or good reason and a hell of an alibi. Plus they would **never find the evidence there was a murder at all**

I think that "Careful!" was because she was about to say "I'll bet," which in this gambling obsessed monastry will have a cluster of bookmaker monks at your elbow in a second, demanding to know how much money you're ready to put on that.

"I bet" just seems to me something she'd naturally say a lot, given her profession.
But when I saw that with an editor's eye, I had to fix it! I figured I'd make it explicit here what she was about to say on account of how short the line is before it gets cut off.

As I also misread it on the first attempt as in "be" and not the beginning of "bet", I wonder whether it would work easier if it was "wager" shortened to "wage-" instead. (Shortening to "wag-" would invite another funny misreading though 🙂 ).
I think she was going to say “I’ll be damned if Maula doesn’t know who did it.” but she’s in a church.
This is consistent with my theory (posted on strip #3543), which suggests that the real killer is already dead.

Plot Twist: Maula already knows who did it but hasn't said anything so that she could spend some time with Lucas. The family that gets revenge together stays together.
Maula does probably know who killed her friend, but she's not the kind of warrior who'll defile sacred ground by going after them on the abbey's property…
…once they step off the grounds, they'll find out exactly why she's known as Bloodhand. (other than clan name)

Oh! I just came up with another hypothesis. We still haven't met Brother Laurel and Brother Hardy. Doesn't that make them obvious suspects?
Let us not forget Brother Howard, Brother Fine, and Brother Howard as possible suspects.
And also not forgetting Brother Fry and Brother Laurie.
Not sure if Brother Mayall and Brother Edmundson are too well known though.
No disrespect to any of those comedians nor their sponsors, but in my opinion the greatest comedy duo of all time was Henson & Oz.

I know he's busy, but its been a month since the last strip..
Here's hoping it won't be too long now.
I'm just grateful he and t! are still giving this amazing gift to us. May it come when they're ready. May their time be filled with happy, and wonderful, things when it doesn't.
Well… Maybe if we want to know how things are going, we just have to ask the right person about it. So here it goes…
Ahem. Glon. I mean, your Majesty. Would you be so kind and give us an update about how is "that guy" doing? You know, the "Beholder King"? No, not His Roundiness, the other one. Or even better, could you eventually lure him back here? I'm sure he would listen to you! If not, offer him some strips in exchange for some strips. That ouhgta work, right? Riiight?
I must admit, I am beginning to get a bit concerned. If he is just incredibly busy, fine, we can wait. But he would usually have left us a brief note to that effect by now. Or at least fixed the odd empty double post of this last strip. Does he have more up to date communications elsewhere, and I just don't know where to look?
