Yup, YAFGC lives. I’ve got a few in the can, Monday’s strip is already queued (is that the right way to spell that?) up on the site, and I’ve got a stack more. My scanner is working and I’ve been inspired again with future stories so… hopefully I can keep this going for another while! 😀

Charles didn't have too good a grip on his sword, else he wouldn't have lost it.
Also Sabatini is more than a little bit of an ass.
(Putting on his arrogant, experienced fencer hat for a moment) Sabatini did a pris-de-fer (take the blade) maneuver which, if pulled off correctly can disarm an opponent even if they've got a proper grip. I have both had this move done to me, and done it myself. Successfully and otherwise. It's pretty funny on the modern fencing piste when your opponent has a foil hanging from their sleeve by the electric cable.

Don't you just love confirmation basis? This guy only listened to what he wanted to hear from the rumour mill and not anything that was part of the truth. So the kid was able to run off a few under-skilled bullies at the dock and all the direct witnesses were impressed. The rumour mill then blows it out of all proportion and a man of considerable skill and fragile ego takes things in entirely the wrong way.
One of the reasons Gather Information checks in my D&D games generally include interesting but hilariously wrong things for the lower results. The better the check, the more you burned out the chaff from the rumor mill.
My players, naturally, prefer the former to the latter.
Both queued up and cued up! Queued in the sense of "in the queue to post", and "cued up" meaning "got ready to play at exactly the right time"

HAH! I do know how to draw a crowd, I just hate doing it. I always get mad at myself when something happens in YAFGC and a crowd gathers. Good one P!enapple!

Interesting hilt Sabatini has. Most of the rapiers I've seen look more like the one Charles is carrying.
Also didn't notice at first the "horns" are pointing downward. If it wasn't for the rapier hand guard–and the blade–I at first thought it was a variant of a Portuguese Carracks black sword/crab sword–especially with the disarm, since those swords are designed for that move (but I'm hardly an expert):
