King Eric III has returned to Drostardy.
It’s not explained in the comic at this point, but King Eric I is a sort of Arthurian character who sacrificed himself to put a mighty evil god back into its evil dimension and is prophesied to return again when Drostardy needs him most.
Eric III just always admired him and has always wanted to meet him.
It’s from an actual D&D campaign I played in (Eric I was my character).
Back when I wrote this I thought only people who knew me and played in that game would be reading it. 🙂
Seeing this again after reading your comments about his grandfather, I noticed that this may be the first strip that makes it clear that they’re not the same person.
I’m now imagining how hilarious it must have been to prank your gaming friends with this arc.
And he gets to wear full clothing! Must feel refreshing after so long. Or itchy.
I dont get this page… but It still makes me smile.
