I hope Clover realizes that she has still not reached her own limit on "up." Being a landless noble has its own advantages & avoids many of the disadvantages that a landed noble has to attend.
Her issue from king means that she has no lands to which she would have to manage; the land is an investment, but it’s a duty to maintain it, even if she did not choose to invest in land. The rest of the king’s issue can be invested as Clover chooses…with well-to-do-merchants & craftsmen which would increase her own foundations. With that, she can become patron to arts, help with charities to feed & clothe the poor, all sorts of things. As long as her commercial investments stay sound & profitable, Clover can do pretty much ANYTHING. The key to remember is that with that her entire *scope* to accomplish things has been greatly expanded; it’s mostly a matter of money & what you can do with it.
Seeing how this ends, I can’t help but wonder if the title isn’t a little trolling.
