Actually, that’s incorrect. Submission wrestling is distinct from folk wrestling/amateur/Olympic wrestling (the kind still trained in secondary school) for a reason. The goal of wrestling is to establish and maintain a superior position, hence why pinfall ends a wrestling match. Barring that, points for takedowns and maintaining superior position carry the day.
