I’ve never heard either of those in my 4 decades of life.

Given that they ARE in the open desert, and even their city is in a desert climate region… that ought to have been seen as a nigh-criminal waste of valuable water!
Well, it's a first level cleric spell, so I doubt if Priestess Sahar wasted any water she can't replace.
For that matter she could have put ice cubes in it with a cantrip.
