BTW, since Lady Julia was counting off her husband’s qualities on her fingers, she mentioned enough that she would have run out of fingers (& thumbs) & have started counting on her toes by now.
Where I come from, many people count between the creases (the lines on each finger), that's 14, rarely 15, per hand. I guess one can do the creases themselves too if ever needed.

Well, she could list the accomplishments on her fingers and point to her heart at the end. Cheesy, but effective.

Maybe she counts in binary, and can get up to 31 with one hand.
I routinely use a system with fingers as 1-4 and thumb as 5, which allows 9 on one hand, and 99 with two.
