I think PopeLucifer’s point was not that there’s any actual poison in play, but that the Grand Dame ought to have known better than to take Charlotte’s sipping the booze as a sign that it was safe in the first place. If there HAD been poison, Charlotte could have had any number of ways of surviving it (even without considering the "expendable loss" angle that she played on to scare the grey elf.)

They might be resistant to poison, but they’re not immune. Poisoning is a socially acceptable method of advancement in drow society.
