Don’t forget Gruummsh is probably pretty weak (by divine standards) from losing the vast majority of his followers. Ranna probably sought him out for his connection to the orcs than his power.
I’m guessing you need a significant power difference to do that. Gruummsh is particularly weak after losing many of his followers and Ranna is going on a crazy recruitment drive throughout all of the Black Mountain. This power disparity is quite a rare case.
A more common situation of divine conflict would probably involve a holy war to kill/convert the followers of the enemy god until they are weak enough to eat.
an interesting strike Ranna has made, is it time for Uthic and her son to become the major powers of the Orcish pantheon? so ive always wondered, considering the RPG influence, have you ever considered compiling the YAFGC into an actual setting?
I think you’re right. i know its one or the other. i like in the article on the orcish pantheon, how their son (pretty powerful in his own right) takes orders from Grummsh no problem, but will defer to his mom if she asks or implies something. I could just envision him (even though i cant recall his name atm) being ready for some battle in the abyss, but just as he’s about to leave, she brings him a sack lunch, and he gets all ‘i wuv you mommy!’ while grummsh is like ‘FFS…..’
I am worried about what she might do to, and with, the orcish spirits of the dead. What about Maula’s other children? Though it would serve her right if she tried to control Joane. 😛
Oh crap… She’s got Joane now doesn’t she?
Nah, Jone would slice and dice her (remember what she did to Gruumsh?), besides, Jone is a Demi-Goddess herself now
No, Rancid is looking in a mirror and talking about herself
Ranna is now a heck of a lot more powerful than Gruumsh was. If anyone could control Jone, it’s Ranna.
Somehow…
In Ranna eats up every other god, then this fictional World will be one without ‘Faith-Wars’…
I’m envious…

Hmm. Just because there's only one god doesn't pre-empt the likelihood of dozens of schisms.
Meh, I doubt she’d still be able to reach the orcs through Gruumsh.

Luthic, wasn’t it?

this looks a bit similair to what kronos did with his kids :p and we al know how that ended
I don’t think Gruumsh is a cyclops. He used to have two eyes and he lost one.
My universe, my mythology. 🙂
Who said Gruumsh was a Cyclops in the first place?
Rich did.
Have just noticed, she said she was now _a_ Goddess of the Orcs, not _the_ Goddess
These interludes are really creepy, very well-executed.
t!
😀 Thanks!
Since we are unlikely to see the dead god again did he lose one eye or was he deformed or what?
Considering the one eye is set in the centre of his head, not likely he lost the other one (and be careful who, or what, you call ‘deformed’)
Is it just me, or has Rancid just gotten a smidgeon more visually attractive? o_O
its you man.. really is.. Gods help you… Trying not to puke..
Did say ‘smidgeon’, specially in comparison to how she looked before (or are you saying that Queen Bloodhand is vomit-inducing? o_O)
I think she looks a lot like Goria now and Goria was attractively drawn.
Was thinking Maula, even as she is now she is hot, but in her ‘heyday’ she was smoking!! 😉
A… bit. At least she doesn’t have claws for hands anymore. Those must have made it tough to do certain things…
Those were pincers, not claws
Anyone else getting a ‘Cell’ or ‘Buu’ vibe going here? Both of them would change form after ‘absorbing’ someone
