Love is like the icing on the cake. It’s what makes it taste so very sweet, but if there’s nothing more solid holding it up, if there’s nothing there but the love-icing, it will very quickly collapse into a melted pile of mush.
By contrast, a cake without icing may not taste AS sweet, but it’s still quite edible and can last a very long time indeed.
We don’t live in a (classic) Disney movie; love doesn’t conquer all problems and opposition. It’s the real world and we have real problems that don’t magically resolve themselves with a kiss. Credits don’t role after your wedding.
