Correction – the heir will be a half-halfling. A "quarterling"?
Newp. Humans and Halflings are very closely related. Their children will either be Human or Halfling. They don’t have Half-Halflings.
That’s because it would be too complicated to give them a proper name, so it’s better to say there’s no half-blood offspring
I was wondering the same thing. A half-halfling would be a quarterling, but their height would be between human and halfling, so they would be a "three-quarterling"
Was thinking exactly that. A three-quarterling.
