This bit of heredity is still confusing some of these characters a decade worth of strips later!
D&D needs better terms for hybrid critters; Cadugan’s dad, the woodelf princeling is a bit of a himbo and left a bunch of kids that are all half elf and half (random Humanoid/Monsterous Humanoid). In D&D terminology, it is usually assumed that a "half-(blank)" is half HUMAN and half (whatever the "blank" is)…like Cadugan…but all of the many half siblings of our favorite ranger share his elven father and have a mother of some random sylan forest-folk species.
I’ve been assuming if elves were at all cross-fertile with trents, we would have seen a half-tree sibling, by this point…
So Cadugan is the child of Flannet Hunter ( https://yafgc.net/comic/3106-baroness-helen-ii-of-greyfort/ of many children, both bastards and legitimately born in wedlock…even if that wedlock was legally bigamous) and the even more promiscuous elven princeling, making him a "Half-Elf", in the human language of the Kingdom, as the human language assumes humanity. Taidor shares Caudugan’s human mother, Flannet the Much-Married (who also has many love-children), making them HALF-brothers, and Taidor a "Half-Satyr", by the same logic that brands Caudugan as "Half-Elf". Taidor’s father is a Satyr, not an Elf. Though even if you tell us that there is no Elf in Taidor at this moment, Rich, him being half-Satyr and living in a Sylvan wood makes it seem very unlikely that there has never been any elf in him!

So, technically, they *are* both half-elf. It’s just that Taidor’s other half is satyr, not human.
Heheheh, nope. Taidor and Cadugan share a Human mother. There’s no Elf in Taidor at all.

Well, Taidor isn’t sterile, he had kids.
